Water Pressure/Electric Issue

We took our new to us camper out for the first time. We had to use a paper plate over the faucet to keep the water from spraying everywhere. Is getting a pressure regulator the correct fix?

The prior owner used an orange extension cord. So when we first got there we could only use the 10 amp side (10/30/50). This did not seem right for lights, ac, microwave ect. Looks like they had never used the landline. After I got it unstuck and was able to remove melted adaptor off I was able to use the 30amp side. The microwave still did not want to run(it takes 20 amps). Anybody have any thoughts? Works good at home.

Get access to the power converter and check all the wiring.  I had to do this on my 11RT and could not believe the poor job with the connections.  After re-doing the connections, everything worked great.

Forgot to mention about the water.  A regulator would be apprpriate to keep the pressure below 50 PSI.  That is what my popup is rated for.

A pressure regulator on your water line to the camper is highly recommended as CG water pressures are generally higher than what your plumbing is rated to handle.

As to your faucet, if it has an aerator on it (mine does), remove it and clean it and re-install it...they do get gummed up and spray all over.

Your PUP should have a 30amp electrical cord (20 amps of this is for AC usage).

Your lights are 12-volt and run off the battery and/or converter if you are plugged into campground 30 amp.

Microwave will operate on the 120 volt if you are plugged into a 30amp circuit.

The outlets will only work when plugged into 30 amp.

Don't know why/how your plug for the camper got melted - maybe too much draw through too little amperage.....and rather than replace the plug head, the prior owner cheated with an x cord for whichever appliance he was using.
