...after having so much fun with the pop-up, but being forced to sell it, I've gone over to the darkside.  For those not familiar with my camper, it was for sale here:
2007 Forest River 228D For Sale

So I've gone nutty and I bought a travel trailer.  It will be very strange to be camping without any zippers and canvass.   :)

We went with a 2009 Forest River Salem 27RBS.  Floorplan and photos shown below.

While I'll miss the unique aspects of pop-up camping, me and my heart defect won't miss all of the extra work it takes to set up camp.

Hopefully one of these days I'll still make a local pop-up rally just so I can live vicariously though you all!!

At least you'll still be out there camping. No one says you have to stay inside all the time anyway. Just park near a pup just so you can get your fix. Good luck with the new tt.

I agree.  My wife said that she was happy that I bought a camper I wouldn't need to mod out.  Little does she know....    :-()

Congratulations on the new camper.  It looks great!

OC Campers

At least you are still camping.  It doesn't matter what in.  Enjoy.

Are you able to store it at home?  We used to live in Orange County so I know it isn't cheap to store rv's

Hey, Get yourselves a nice screen room to eat out in and sit outside of an evening, and you still have that 'Zippers and canvas' feeling!

Getting out there is the important part!

Nice rig!

Welcome to the dark side. :)

There are pros and cons to both sides but what meets your needs is what is important.

While we miss the real camping feeling of a popup, we do enjoy our tt.

I can't store this at home unfortunately - one of the obvious cons.  I'm storing at the old Marine Corp Air Station El Toro, which by OC standards is VERY affordable.  Unfortunately, as they're going to turn that whole property into a big park, it's going to go away sometime in the not too distant future.

A screen room is certainly something I'm considering getting as well.  I suppose I need something that I actually have to set up if I need it.  On this TT even the awning is automatic  :)

As far as I'm concerned the only darkside would be to stop camping all together. I'm glad you found something that makes you happy and that you will continue to enjoy the camping lifestyle.

You do what you need to do Eric to keep on camping.
