Quote from: oreo57Lori, you call them a preserve, I consider it a loss of land. The way Brain described it, it's not GOOD but thats the that corporate way, They will let anyone with a few bucks or alot sign a contract to open up one. Baby boomers are getting into retirement and with the moho generation they need some where to stay.
"Preserve" isn't my phrase for it--it what TT calls their CGs. I agree with you Mike.

Maybe not so successful for the builders either: this from 7/22/08

Lori is right,  "They" refer to it as a Preserve.  That is also how they got their name, because i heard it a thousand times.  They also stated they were the most sucessful membership campground in the USA.  And with the membership you can use time shares around the world.  So they seem to feel that they will take over the world with their vacation memberships.  At least that's the impression I got from it.

Bottom line is, they still had a pile of poop with a hot dog stuck in it in the bathroom

Good point Lori! I almost forgot. I told them that when I get close to retirement it may be a good deal for me. Stay for free? Hell yeah! She says..."If you buy now, it's good for Life". There is a $498.00 yearly maintenance fee. So, based on retirement at 65, If i sign up now, i will be paying an additional $10,458.00 for a CG I won't use nearly enough to justify. Now if I sign up at age 63 or 64, i'm not out as much.

Oh, and also, that $498.00 was discounted along with the rest of the Package, that was only valid if I signed up.......you guessed it, that day.

maintenance fee?? for what to make sure the poop in the bathroom is there less time???  I'm sorry a fee to maintain some paperwork/computer files is a complete ripoff

Yes Dee, Maintenance Fee.  Kinda like Spousal Maintenance....even if you don't get to use it you still have to pay...........savvy?

I can only be silent so long, and I knew it was kind of expected that I'd chime in on a bathroom post  -- even though nothing happened at Pismo's bathrooms!!!

I visited one of the sites maybe 10 years ago... it was with friends who had a membership and honestly I wasn't impressed at all.  I agree with the not impressive bathroom and grass statements................ totally true!

Anyway we had the lady calling us off the hook to get us to come visit another site a couple years ago finally I think she gave up on us! hahahahah!

But the free weekend and $75 shell card are totally worth it to check out!!!!  I would do it for that for sure! ;)
