Hey Southern Cal Campers.   Which beach is it that I am thinking of, that when the  waves come crashing in, it sounds like a train or thunder.  I think that there are big round rocks on the beach as well.  We used to camp there at this place when we very young, and it was in the north San Diego area.  Is it San Clemente, Onofre, Pendelton, or where?

Thanks, John

San Clemente is out...that is high up on a bluff - you have to hike down to the surf.

On the right weekend......it could be Doheny (if you had a beach-front site) or San Elijo (if you had a lower, beach-front site). It also depends on the sea conditions. Many times, it is very calm at those CGs although if there is a storm off the coast of Mexico or in the South Pacific, the waves can roll in pretty good.
