Help. I have a skamper 2001 23b. I have never used the heating system. The manual gives little info on how to get it going. It mentions a pilot light. The only pilot that I know of is the refrigerator one. Can I run the heater without electricity or do I have to start it with electricity before the propane kicks in? If so how? Thanks.

Take another read of your manual.  Try to determine if your furnace is self igniting, or if you have to remove the front panel and manually turn on the gas, light the pilot, wait for the pilot to heat the thermocouple, and then turn the gas to the "on" position.

Yes, they need electricity to power the blower fan and the thermostat.  So you'll either need a good (charged up) 12v battery in your camper, or be plugged into shore power.
