I just got a call from Vail Lake. they saw I camped there 2 years ago for Halloween they said if I wanted to come this year they would give me 4 tickets to the hay ride 4 tickets to this and that and 10 % off. So I asked 10% off what rates.$110.00 so it would ONLY be $99.00.What are they smoking...I told her no I wasn't paying that, and told her that the rates used to be affordable until the new owners...so she says you are stating that you can't come due to financial situation and I said "NO, beacuse you don't have anything to offer me that's worth that amount of money" and hung up....

they must be feeling the times and their outrages rates

They have already called me twice!  Once earlier in the week, and just now.  She has been very nice....I have told her twice we have other plans.....and told her twice now why we aren't going to be there.  She said she would pass it along to the owners...and asked me to go on the website, as well, to give my information.  Whatever.  Karma.

I just wrote them a nice e-mail...told them they need to do some campground comparing rates and amenities. while I know they put alot of money into the Halloween thing, they also charge $$ for all the cool stuff AND they allow the public in...which makes longer lines for us to stand in...I told them about the child and drunk golf cart operators. I checked the rules they allow RHINOS also..

it looks like their greed is catching up with them...

Yikes!  $110 per night?!?  Geesh, and I thought Camp Williams was high at $60 per night!  :eyecrazy:

hahaha!  After boondockin for free in the middle of the desert for so many years its hard for me to comprehend paying anything for a camp site!!!  hahaha!!!  But I'm spoiled now and gettin to old to pee in bushes anymore ;) hahahaha!

If enough people complain to them about the high rates they may consider lowering them.... I can't imagine they are doing that good in this economy!?!

Well, it's not so bad if you avoid Halloween.   :eyecrazy:    Their regular winter rate is from $45 to $60.  How about that New Years Eve price?  They want $150 for New Years Eve.  Anymore, we think anything over $20 is expensive.  We're usually in the State Parks, National Parks and Forests and members of Passport America.  The highest price we've paid is $60 a night for Liberty Harbor Marine and RV Park in Jersey City.  Not a bad price for NYC lodging.

That place is thinking they are better than they are.  It's a nice CG, but it's not the Hilton.  If that kind of $$ included a massage and drinks with little umbrellas in them I can see it.  But as of the last time I was there, all I saw was a bunch of those stupid Toyhauler people with their Golf Carts buzzing around everywhere.  Losers

They also called us...I told them that they were smoking weed.  I wasn't going to pay that much for camping when I could stay in a motel for that much..They need to inforce rules and stop the child driving golf carts.  Also take care of noisy drunk people...and bring down prices for Halloween and Holidays,
