Last campout of the season....

Well, hopefully, tomorrow night I'll be tucking in with my Golden retreiver, Fizz, and my son and some new friends in Starved Rock State Park, IL.

I haven't gotten to camp all summer, not since Mother's day - repairs on the camper, bad timing, flooded WI river & campgrounds and a new job all conspired to keep the PUP in the driveway.  

but I came across a 'meet-up' hiking and camping group in the NW suburbs, and they're going camping this weekend and I'm gonna join 'em! Fizz will enjoy the hiking trails and one of the members has a friendly lab to play with.

It'll probably be cold - but we've got a site with electric ( I think) and the furnace works - I've got the Mr. Buddy and a very furry doggie to keep me warm - good sleeping bags - so I'm going for it.  

the pup needs some roof work, but it's a 'seeping' kind of leak, not the kind to get us wet - so if it does rain, I can dry the camper out in my friends' garage when I store it.

I've been on the new job for less than 2 weeks now and don't know if I'll get any more chances to have a weekend off  before the weather really turns cold, so I'm taking advantage of it while I can.

Anyone else going out this weekend?

Have a blast!!!  I know how exciting that first trip out after having to go without for so long..... I was pregnant back to back for 2 years and then had a sick baby so it was hard for us to do much of anything........ finally when that first trip came I hardly knew what to do with myself!!! hahahaha!!!  

Ahhh... cuddling up with your doggie sounds so great!!!  Our last trip till the end of winter will be next weekend with the SCCampers bunch.... I have no idea what we'll be doing from after then till the first of April though...... maybe something will come up?

Anyway... enjoy your hike, and your kiddo and your doggie!!!!

Yep we too  have done our last camping for the season last weekend at Tar Hollow Sp. Tar Hollow Pictures This week end -tomorrow- I'm going to winterize the camper then put it to bed for the season. Can't wait for next spring. Throughout the "Off Season" I'll cruise the forums and make plans for next years camping.

Didn't go out this weekend, BUT we are headed out in about 2 hrs for a week of fabulous fall camping...

Thenwe winterize..maybe we'll sneak one more weekend in after thatif we're lucky

What's this "winterize" you speak of?  (just kidding).  Have a great week, Marcy!  We will be doing camp driveway next week-end at my sister's while we help her install new flooring.  Ugh.  Then we get to go camping for the real the next week-end.  Any, maybe we'll sneak another trip in there somewhere.

Thank goodness living here we can camp all year long but we do have to winterize the TT where we live it does get cold "california style.".....Hahaaaaaaa
