If not too far and no snow, I could possibly, maybe pursuaded, if there is at the very least working restrooms and showers and electric. South is good, but I know that is harder for most being they are farther north.

I could do Pine Grove, weather permitting (I do not tow in snow and ice, voluntarily anyway).  Harper's Ferry KOA is good too, in the front section.

We will be doing the usual...dinner with my cousins in Oley.  Michael will be back from school, so will be spending time with him.  Guess it will be a family weekend as I don't have to work, but Andy is on-call all weekend.

Family weekend at home for us too since both college kids will be back. Kels has bball tryouts early Fri & Sat mornings. I think the older ones have to go back on Sunday. Just no time to fit in a camping trip.

Paula I want to camp somewhere, but I don't know if it is going to happen.  Jon may have something going on that I will have to be home.:)

I need to go somewhere or I get a housefull of company who sit on their rumps and expected to be served and the kids babysat...sorry I work, they do not.  We have rarely been invited to their places for Holidays.

I am going to talk it over with Raymond in the next week or so.  he knows how I feel about "family" holidays. We have to go somewhere where there are resturaunts close by, we will be using minimal camping gear.
We totally unpacked the truck as Jeffrey has been given bunches of firewood (where he lives, they heat with wood). So since he has no licence, I back the truck into the slots (literaly between houses and fences and the mirrors have to be folded in to get through) for him to load, then drive it to where he lives and he unload. Raymond's chainsaw quit running yesterday, something is seized up. The truck is sitting in one of those slots, Raymond did not think I could get it in...I fooled him!!!

I may or may not be online in the next two weeks as we are heading to Florida tomorrow. I have already voted. Absentee, as Delaware does not have early voting (that sort of scares me, sort of brings to mind "vote early, vote often and with all the voter fraud...). If the hotels and timeshare have WIFI, then I will check in (I know the one Tuesday night does).

Hey all!

We're heading down to Virginia Beach for the week...  We bought a very small turkey to fit in the tiny oven of the PU lol...

Not going camping, but we (raymond and I) are leaving town.  We are going to Indiana, we will arrive just in time to have Thanksgiving Dinner with my Mother and Brother, spend the night in a Motel, and the next day head further west. Raymond has 40 acres and we got a call from his "next door" neighbor that some trees had fallen, so we are using this as an 'excuse" to leave town.

Paula have a safe trip.  I hope you have a nice time at dinner.  Does your mother know you are coming?:)

Thanks, yes she does know.  This is pretty hard for me.  It looks likewith weather, I will see if I can get off on Wednesday also. Drive about 6 hours, getting off the road before or around noon. Then Finish the drive Thanksgiving AM.  Traffic gets pretty hairy around Baltimore on thanksgiving eve, been there/done that. So if we leave early (providing I can get off). We talked about it and we are not taking the new car, we will take the minivan, because it is heavier and more stable, and older and paid off...I've made this trip in Ice before. YUCK!!! Them mountains ain't no fun when they are slick, especially since I am a flat lander, born and bred.

I ended up camping over the holiday weekend at French Creek SP.  The loop was over half full.  The weather was nice until it started sleeting at 0430 Sunday morning.  I should have popped down Saturday night and crawled in the access door and slept on the floor.:D  Drying out a wet PU in November is not fun.  I went to Shady Maple for dinner on Saturday.  I did not go away hungry.:D  The down side of the trip was the bathroom.  There are three stalls in the womens bathroom and one didn't have toilet paper when I arrived late Thursday night.  By Sunday morning there wasn't any toilet paper in the bathroom.  No one cleaned or restocked the bathroom over the long weekend.  With the higher rates the state is charging they could at least have a stocked, cleaned restroom.

At least you have your own bathroom to fall back on (or was the camper winterized?)

One of these days I hope to make it to Shady Maple. Have only camped down that way a couple times and somehow didn't make it to S-M. Wasn't sure where it was :( Hope you had a good time, other than the weather. We had a busy time with all the kids home. J went back on Sat afternoon/evening, beating the snow/rain but Court stuck around until Sunday and it took her 8-9 hrs to drive back to Rochester. Not fun. She despises the Scranton area. Luckily Chris put on her snow tires, but according to her, the road was filled with idiots. Once she go up past Syracuse, it was clear sailing.

The camper is winterized, but I can still use the toilet, but not the shower. :)

well, at least you have your priorities right.

btw Tracy, i missed your message before because I noticed the cookie jar was empty and I went off to bake a batch... The message had to do with Bush and the reporter who threw his shoes at our President. Interesting culture. Gets the point across (disgust) without using a gun.
