Someone in China hacked into 2 of my 4 email accounts this morning. Each account had a different password.

They sent an email to everyone in my address books. They pretended to be me and offered a link to a website in China that offered "Deals" on electronics. The email was actually sent from my email account. I could go into my "Sent Messages" folder and see every message.

Please get in the habit of changing the password on your email account(s) on a regular basis. Hacking is becoming an art-form in China. If it is allowed to continue, email may become so corrupted as to be useless. This would be a worldwide disaster (to go along with all of our other disasters).

I was fortunate enough to be checking my email when this occurred. I immediately changed my password. If someone gets your email password, they could not only abuse your email account but they could actually change your password before you find out and you may not be able to reattain access to your account.

I guess we are not in your address book, we didn't get anything!

I have 4 email accounts. 2 personal and 2 different businesses. Both businesses got hacked. The businesses are not related in any way and neither business has the email address of the other. That's why I put out the alert. For me to get hit twice is pretty freaky. That means, it's either gotta be pretty wide spread or one heck of a coincidence..

Ya....it's called "Spyware". I dump all of it about 4 times a day. I have all kinds of spyware blocker software but it's useless. I also have 3 layers of firewalls.

Heck....these people have hacked into the Pentagon computers....we're nothing.

I think that the US and Europe should isolate itself from the rest of the "WWW".

Unless your spyware is tied into your email program your the loser,it has to be an active type. But then it only blocks spyware, the ones you need to worry about will collect key strokes but most will invade your registery files which is where a good firewall is needed. But to get 2 emails that is extremely odd, are you on wifi or direct, the router should have a firewall than your computer should have 1, plus check your security settings if you are Wifi on the router.Hope nothing else got hacked. Good Luck.

My system is all hardwired. There is a firewall on the main cable router then firewalls on 2 other hardwired routers in my network from the office to my apartment.
