Thanks in advance.  This is my first trailer with electric brakes.  I have a Jayco 2004 Eagle 14SO.  I have just returned from picking up my trailer at the local service shop.  I had my hubs repacked and electric brakes serviced.  The service man indicated the brakes had not been adjusted in a long time or possibly never adjusted.  I was told they were adjusted.  My question is when I apply my brakes at 14 volts I only feel the trailer slightly dragging. I installed a Prodigy brake controller and the directions imply I need to adjust the controller to a point where the brakes almost start to lock up.  I'm not even close to locking up.  Another point: I have electric brakes on all four wheels.  Am I asking too much from the brakes or is something wrong?  How much stopping power should I expect?

My situation is the same. Our 2004 Fleetwood Utah is in my opinion too heavy to achieve lockup. I tried to set the Prodigy as the instructions say to no avail. I do get plenty of braking at the max setting. It is not alot when the trailer brakes are used alone, but it makes a very noticable difference when used in conjuction with the tv.

OK here is what I have done.  I jacked up the trailer and adjusted the brakes to a point where the pads are just touching or dragging.  I had my wife apply power to the brakes to test.  On average it takes about 5-6 volts to lock up the brakes when turning the wheel by hand.  I took the trailer for a test drive and I don

Do you have 7" brakes or 10"? Mine has 7" and I was told that you will not get wheel lockup with 7" brakes. Mine doesn't even come close. But there is a significant benefit to having the brakes. I can feel them working while towing.

I have the 7 inch brakes.  I have finally come to realize that the brakes are doing just about all they will do.  I did finally get them all adjusted evenly and found they are working OK.  I will be camping this week so we will see.
