Hi again everyone, I did a search on canvas, bear creek, and weight but couldnt find the info so.

The good news: today we checked out the camper, did a rain and drain test on the roof. The last bit of roof work I did holds solid no leaks. So the roof redo is off, I just need to button up the inside.

The additional good news we are going to put a new canvas.

We have everything taken down folded up and boxed in one 24"sq box. It fits fine.

I don't own a bathroom scale. So I was wondering those of you who have sent in your canvas, do you remember the weight, the cost and who you used (i.e. USPS, UPS, Fed Ex).

Im trying to be prepared for sticker shock

Thanks
Patrick

I sell a lot of stuff on eBay. I have found FedEx Ground to be the best price on items like that.

Get the exact measurements, weight and zip code. Go to each one of these and check their rates. It just takes a few minutes and can save you a lot of $.

Wavery,

Thanks for the info, and prompt reply. I too play way to much on ebay, but usually dont ship things so heavy. The wife and I are twigs so the only scale we have in this house is a postal scale that maxes out at 11 lbs.

My guestimates are pretty poor as well. Figured with so many "I used bear creek"  people on the forums I thought somebody might have a more accurate number.

Guessing the box weight somewhere close to 50 lbs (hoping Im over guessing)

I got some ludicrous number from USPS $81
UPS came back better 3 day ground arrive monday for $51

I guess the real question now is, that 50 lbs guesstimate Im using even close?

FedEx Ground is $38.55 to ship a 24"x24"x24", 50# pkg from Dallas (75201) to Bear Creek (54479).

Wavery,

owe you a big thanks.

Fed Ex From San Antonio $46.

Looks like I just switched to Fed Ex,

Just kinda overlooked them along with DHL. Simply because the SA spots for DHL are just drop boxes or the airport. But I completely brained the Fed Ex Kinkos right down the road.

Again thank you, for giggles Ill post the weight tommorrow.

I guess wasnt that bad, with all canvas parts total weight including box  50.10 lbs

Came out to $52 with tracking and signature. About 6-8 weeks current turn around which works out well. With the canvas out of the way I can get  to that inside work a bit easier.

Thanks again Wavery for the Fed Ex refferal

I too am a FedEx Ground convert.  In fact, I opened an account with them, so I save an add'l 10% making my own shipping labels online.

I switched when I tried to ship 4 aluminum wheels with tires mounted, from here in SoCal to WA state.  2 to a box, 64lbs/box.  UPS wanted $111/box.  FedEx did it for $19.80/box

Now the only time I use UPS is for items over 70lbs (that's the FedEx Ground limit).  They run about $1/lb cross-country.
