Hi everyone, I have been trying to find out if anyone in Az. can tell me how well the bunk end Gizmos work in Az. We are new to this sight but we have owned our PUP since 10-07,and we love it. We went from a motorhame to the PUP with no regrets. :usflag:

Hello Jack,

We purchased the high wind gizmos a few years back. We don't use them all the time but we do use them quite a bit. We camped near Sedona over Thanksgiving and used them to keep the bunk ends warm inside. It worked great and we didn't have any condensation in the PUP even with running the furnace. We have also used them in TX, MS and KY during the summer. It kept the PUP nice and cool during very humid months running the A/C or not.

They are easy to set up and work great. We were to head up to Show Low area for Spring Break but DD got sick so we are just hanging around here. We would have definitely used them there.

Here is a photo of the cover we used over Thanksgiving.

Hope this helps.

Hi Jack. Although I'm not from Az, I do live in a bit warmer place (Imperial Valley of Ca.).  I bought the high wind version of the popup-gizmos a couple years ago and love them.  We normally do our camping in the mountains east of San Diego and it gets pretty toasty there in the summer (95-100 degrees). Our first summer camping there we didn't have the gizmos and it got too hot inside the pup during the day to enjoy it.  With the gizmos, I believe there's, at least, a 10 to 15 degree change. Now we can actually go in the pup and take a nap.  We don't have a/c on our pup, so "Mexicali air-conditioning" (as in open up all the way) works quite well.  At least we don't have all that radiant heat from the bunk end tops cooking us alive.  They are well the few $$ investment.  I leave them clipped on and fold up the pup with them installed.  The only disconnect I do is the small bungees that tighten the gizmo at the bunkend to resist high winds.  BTW, we've been in pretty gusty conditions (over 35mph) and never had the things come loose.  Also, since we're woosies, we always have shore power, so a tower fan works especially well to keep the air circulating inside and that is a good thing to keep DW happy!!

I hope this helps.

Thanks for the imformation. It looks like this is something that we definitely need to have.

We were able to make it up to Show Low for a couple of days, Thurs-Sat. We used the high wind bunk end covers. It kept us nice and warm with the furnace when temps dipped down into the low 30's. We had no condensation on either bunk end so it was nice not having the morning rain on the face. We even saw snow the day we were packing up.

Another helpful use is it keeps your canvas clean from the tree pitch and birds. With it snowing it kept our bunk ends dry, so packing up was drier.

Hope this helps.
