I have a 2005 Fleetwood(Coleman) Niagra which does not have a gray water holding tank built into it.  Has anyone customized their rig by adding one.  We like to camp at some of the So Cal beach campgrounds and we used to use a tote for gray water, but now their require your rig to be self contained.  Any info and or pictures would be appreciated.

Hey misterjager, what So Cal campgrounds are you refering to. We also have a 05 Niagara and use a tote for gray water. Sure would be a drag if our local sites start requiring this.

El Capitan State Beach just up the coast from us has not been accepting reservation's since December, the website says they are closed for "maintenance". I drove up yesterday to see if I could get a site, the camphost said that they are not really doing much work but that the state did not have the money to open it for camping.  Seems kind of silly, you would think they could make money if they open it up. It is scheduled to open in April and is fully booked!

Emma wood, Refugio, & McGrath say you must be completely self contained and holding tanks must be permanant.  We stayed at all three locations last summer and used the tote without issue.  This year they say they won't let us in.

Don't know about your grey tank situation but I do know about the campgrounds and their new rules regarding grey water and self containment.

I called and talked to someone at Bolsa Chica last summer regarding grey water tanks and they told me portables were ok.  I haven't read about any changes.
