Just wanted to introduce myself.  We have been tent campers for quite a while, but can not stand sleeping on the ground anymore.  No matter how expensive the air mattress.  Been looking at TT for quite a while, then an excellent buy on a 2000 coleman pup got my attention.  We bought it and are excited about our first camping trip to the lake in a couple of weeks.
I look forward to hanging out on this forum and learning all i can from you all.

Welcome Wolfie!

We moved to a PUP for the same reason.

Looking forward to hearing all about your travels and seeing photos of your adventures!

Welcome wolfcat1,

We tent camped for years before purchasing our pop up back in 1997. Since you already have experience tent camping, you should adjust to camping in a pop up very nicely.

Most of the skills you learned tent camping will come in very handy while pop up camping.

Once again welcome.

Welcome to PUT and the world of PU camping!  What part of the country are you from?  What model PU did you get?  I hope you wonderful time with the new type of camping.:)

Welcome to PUT and to the world or pop up camping. Like you, we were looking for a tt before we found a deal on the pup we have. We have not regretted it for a second! It's a world unto itself.

We have also learned a ton of useful information from this forum. Remember, the only stupid question is the one that doesn't get asked.

Enjoy!

Welcome!

We tent camped as well and got a PUP in 2006.  I think moving to a PUP is very easy for tent campers.  Basically we took all our camping gear and packed it in the PUP our first couple times out.  The only thing "new" we bought at first was a gray water tote and a porta potti (our PUP is more basic, no shower or potti in it which is the way we like it).  After the first couple trips we found out what worked and didn't work from our old tent gear.  Camp somewhere close if you can the first couple times and perhaps near a Walmart or camping store just in case.  Bring along some paper so you can write down what you need.

One of the first things we figured out was if we want to plug into electric and water we need various adapters and hoses and what not.  And so forth.

But to this day we still use the same cooking dishes and stuff that we did tenting.

Best part, have fun!

welcome,  and be sure to check out that TT mattress as well.  The expensive air mattresses may be more comfortable than what you get in an RV.

Welcome Wolfcat, does your handle mean you are a dog and a cat person?
Whatever, you should like your new camper compared with your tent! We were tent persons, then had a PU, then went back to tents and backpacking and now due to age and physical limitations are pop uppers. Whatever your mode it is nice just to get out there. I don't know your camping style, if it is full accomodations or boondocking but PU's can handle it all, with much more comfort than a tent. You are on your way to a more comfortable, relaxing, leisure activity, enjoy!        shredder
