I have the a 2006 Fleetwood Williamsburg.  I have a broken connector at my hot water heater.  Once I get the elbow, can I use regular hose clamps to clamp it.  I do not have the specialty tool to crimp the bands they used on the original.  Or if I can not can I just plug that line and not use the water heater until I can get the correct tool to use on the bands?

A hose clamp should work fine if not overly tightened.

Please be sure to use a pressure regulator when connected to 'city water' so as not to have leaks.

Yes you should be able to use regular hose clamps.  I would recommend stainless steel clamps, and check carefully for leaks.  :)

S/S hose clamps work fine. The best place to get them is at a marine store like BoatingWorld or West Marine. Be sure to take a magnet with you. A lot of S/S clamps have S/S straps but the screws are ferrous metal (steel). The combination is worse than getting regular steel clamps. If the magnet is even slightly attracted to the screw, you might want to pass on it until you can find good ones that are all S/S.

Regular steel hose clamps will work fine and will probably last for the life of the camper. Stainless clamps will be better but not needed because heater is inside the trailer where there will be very little rust or corrosion if any,,,,

I appreciate all the good info.  We took the Poppy out for the week, and she performed well.  I did not fix the plumbing issue.  We still did well.  No hot water isn't that big of a deal for us.  Thanks again for all the info.
