I am new.
today is sunday, mother's day, we bought a used pop up friday!!
anxious to get out next weekend,  we'll be about an hour from home.
We purchased a 1999 Coachmen.  i don't recall the model number,  it has what i think is all of the extras I need.  potty, shower, ac heat slide out  a king on one side and a queen on the other, (table and bench slides out)
They sold it to us fully stocked with everything except for linens.
i'm stoked.  ready to go, with my pillow in hand!!

question is,
 I need an awning.
the local travel trailer  buisness here gave me a catalog, i saw a canopy with a screen wrap around,  for about 200.
if i read it right.  is there a place online to purchase camper parts and accessories?  that may be cheaper?
I am near clueless.

the one in the catalog does not have the support beams and a hard top  jst a canvas top.  is this what i need? best option?
can you tell me anything?
 i'm shutting up now.

I would re-read the catalog listing.  200 for the entire awning and add-a-room seems a bit low. the price for one or the other sounds more like it to me. ( but I could be wrong?)

a couple of things to look at when getting an awning.....

Camper Awnings are made of a Canvas/Vinyl material.  they typically have 3 support poles that run from the roof edge to the awning edge, and 2 or 3 that run to the ground from the awning edge. and some even tie down from the corners to the ground as well.

the awning BAG will slide into a C-channel mounted along the roof edge/sidewall. the bag unzips and you roll out the awning/poles/hardware and set up.

the easiest way to do this is to crank the PuP a few inches open.  take out the awning and poles.  crank up the rest of the way and then setup.  otehrwise you need 6 foot long arms to undo the awning.... heheh

get one that is the same size as your roof/awning C-channel. measure it, it will be 6,8,10, or 12 foot long most times.
(the C-channel it will slide into is mounted over your door and runs the length of the roof generally)

most awnings will come as a complete setup in a zippered bag, including the poles and hardware necessary to set it up.  the AAR (add a room) will be in a seperate bag of sorts most times.

good luck and keep looking.  as far as where to purchase one, I am sure someone else can help you.  but most likely you should be able to go to your dealer and see for yourself what you want to get.

thank you so much.
this is a bummer,  my husbands arms are only  five and a half feet long.  I need six huh?? humm.

will go to the dealer tomorrow. thank you so much for the reply!

Welcome and congrats on the new-to-you camper.

There is a seller on ebay selling A&E awnings and the people here who have purchased from him, have had excellent transactions and love the awnings big time.  I think they are under $200, which is a bargain for a "real" awning.

But don't let that keep you from your trip. Get out and enjoy.  Besides, you'll come home with a laundry list of other neat stuff you want to add.

Like a "BAL Light Trailer Leveler"  hint, hint.

Good luck on your maiden voyage!  We bought our new-to-us pop-up a couple weeks ago and are itching to use it too!

Congrats on the n2u PUP and welcome from AZ. What part of TX are you from?  My brother lives in Lockhart (Austin area) and we have pulled the PUP to visit him many times.

Todd is right. Many have bought their replacements from the ebay guy. I would check it out.

You will need to figure out how long of an awning, and the length for your C-Channel that holds the awning.

We have a 2002 Viking GP(same manufacturer as Coachmen)and have an 11 FT Carefree of Colorado (it came with our PUP). From the sounds of your options it appears you may have a larger PUP also.

Keep us posted.

He has several sizes. The 9' awning fits a 10' PU and the 11' awning fits a 12' PU.

Hi Wayne,
It looks like this seller only has 11' long awnings in grey.  Is that right?
