Yikes, Bryan! I'm glad to hear that it wasn't as bad as it could have been but a broken scapula still sounds pretty scary. Take care of yourself and get well soon.

My brother had an accident at the train yard on the same day--he lost the top of his ring finger above the first knuckle working on a train derailment. Makes me thankful for my relatively safe paralegal desk job--paper cuts are about it.

See you at the campfire.

Thank you all for the encouragement.  I am doing pretty good.  I had never heard of the scapula bone before and the Dr. told me it is the same as the shoulder blade.  She also said it is one of the most difficult bones to break and can only be done with a severe blow.  That's when i reminded her tht it was 1000 lbs.  Anyway they were concerned that a hit that hard might cause internal damage so they ran a lot of test and full body ct scans.  Every thing came back normal.  They told me to take 4-6 weeks off work.  I could only laugh at that.  No work no camp no good.  So needless to say I went back to work the next day, i'm just taking it easy  no hard work till next week.  I am blessed to have so many care about my well being and thank you all.  See you soon, Bryan

Bryan.....Dee is right....take it from a 60+ year-old guy that has had many of those types of injuries (Including a broken back).

Take the time to let that heal properly or it may haunt you for the rest of your life. It's one thing to put up with the pain and inconvenience when your younger but when old-age starts creeping in, you'll have enough aches & pains. This is the time to limit your exposure. ;)

Bryan,
I do Work Comp claims and handle on the job injuries. I need to show these idiots, that they are not that disabled and can go back to work with a strained knee or a paper cut and don't need 6 month's of disability. .. ha ha. Good job.
Seriously, do take care of yourself, it could have been worse, youy are very lucky.

Do you believe in MIRACLES?  I have been feeling really good and went back to the DR for a follow up last week.  The shoulder is no longer broken!!  For those of you who don't believe in the power of prayer why would you not want this kind of power in your life? To recap
Thursday July 23, 1000lbs falls on me and breaks shoulder (five Dr in ER agreed on this), and I can't work for 4-6 weeks.
Friday, message gets out to friends(Sccampers of course) and church family.
Monday, follow up with Orthopedic at same hospital.  Dr has no explanation for me but tells me I'm healed.  Even made me go back for more X-rays a second time in that visit.  He said I could go back to work with no limitations.  I let him know that my God (The one and only true God) has dominion over the body and can do what he wants.  The Dr could not argue that but shared he had seen this before from other patients who had trusted their healing to God and not DR's.
I give all praise to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
If you think this is hogwash or coincidence I don't know what to tell you other than prayer really works.  And I say again why would you not want this kind of power in your life?
