Rigging up and outside shower

Has anyone rigged up an outside shower on their Pup? Mine did not come with outside hookups but it did come with a tiny indoor shower/toilet area. It's really too small to use. I could see maybe rinsing off your feet if you are at the beach but then, I would rather do that outside. So that brings me to the idea of rigging up an outside area.

I can use the existing curtain that came with my PuP and rig it up outside somehow. The main purpose for this post was to see if anyone has installed an outside faucet on a PuP that didn't come with one.

Also, has anyone used a Coleman hotwater on- demand heater? If I do this. I will use a hot water heater like the Coleman.

Thanks

I did some searches but struck out.

Yes!!

And again, yes!

First, when we were still using solar shower bags, I created a pole to suspend the full bag. As was covered in another post, these full shower bags are heavy. I used 1/2" black iron pipe. I ran a length straight up about 6', then an elbow, then out about 9", then three elbows to create a "hook." The shower bag hangs right on that hook. I used bungees to strap this creation to one of the four roof-support columns. It held the weight of the full shower bag nicely.

But that's not really what you wanted to know.

When i decided to graduate from the solar showers, I installed a hot water tank in our pup. At that time I also installed a "real" hot/cold faucet combination. I used a faucet fixture that also included a diverter to a hand-held sprayer. I took off the sprayer head and put on a regular hand-held shower head along with a long (about 4') hose for it. We use it as a sprayer when washing dishes in the sink. BUT - we also use it as an outside shower. All we have to do is unzip the tenting over in that corner, and slip the long shower head with hose outside. It is excellent!

Have you considered installing a larger ceiling track and larger curtain inside the trailer where your existing shower is?  If you enlarged the area where your shoulders are, that might make a big difference.  You don't need much room at your feet, but do need to move around easily at the shoulders.  Just a thought.  If it worked it would be a lot easier and be less hassle and less to haul and store and deal with than making something outside, plus if you're inside, you can shower with more privacy in a heated or cooled space where all the stuff you need is right there.

Otherwise, maybe you could install a quick disconnect on the existing shower faucet and run a hose out to a shower tent under the canvas.

Great suggestions. Thanks.

Here's what's goin on behind the scenes: I'm already planning on getting a hot water heater of some sort that I can use on my competion/catering BBQ trailer. If it's as portable as the Coleman looks to be, I may as well find some way to use it with my PuP.

I like the idea of installing a big, nice faucet at the inside sink with a wand that will reach outside. Any way you can give me a model # or name for that? Or maybe a pic or two?

Thanks
