I am on the trail of a STEAL of the century (at least I think so) and come in search of advice.  I have found a 2002 20' Cabana for less than 2k that needs some TLC.  Owner reports needing AC, appliances, 2 windows replaced and the hitch needs repaired.  All told I could do most of the fixes/replacing myself and still use our pop-up while working on my "project."  What all should I be concerned with regarding this RV?  I know the things I would look at/for on a pop-up purchase, but a hard-side may pose new warnings/pitfalls I would like to be aware of.  I will be approach this deal with a VERY skeptical eye and question EVERYTHING, but if this sounds as good as advertised I may join the dark side (sort of).  :)

I'd be curious to know how that kind of damage occurred. Was it broken into or was it in some sort of an accident. At the very least, it was not well taken care of.

Those answers might affect my decision. Good luck with your journey to the dark side. Pay attention to what Yoda says....

Absolute J-U-N-K!!!!  All the appliances were gone (expected) the unit was stored outside at some point for a very long time with nothing covering the AC hole.  Needs all new flooring, all electrical and re-plumbed.  Not to mention the hitch is completely bent and would have to be hacked off and new welded on or fabricated.  The entire lower perimeter of the camper was destroyed, skin wrinkled up, exposing framing and even able to see through the walls from inside to out in many locations.  The unit is trash.  I guess I'll have to keep looking and keep in mind: Too good to be true!

At least it was an easy decision. Cross it off the list and move on.

So what the heck happened to it? Just a bad owner?
