A friend of mine just got into the p/u word and purchased a 1995 Rockwood 1640.  The top has plastic corners that are cracked due to a plywood rot issue.  Replacing the plywood won't be an issue but finding the corners has been.  We don't want to start the project unless we can find a solution to the corner covers.  Any ideas of where to find replacements or another idea.

thanks in advanced.

As per contact with a dealer (Tom Raper RV in Richmond, IN) in the past, the roof was available as a unit only. The entire roof unit part for an 8' box roof was quoted at $1108 in 2007.  Since this is basically a new camper, I would certainly consider replacing the entire roof as a unit.  He would have to order this part (I was told 40 to 60 days for delivery from the factory).  The roof is supposed to include a hardware kit. He would have to remove the canvas, remove and reinstall the fantastic fan (a great installation kit is available from fantastic fans that includes a closed foam sealant gasket and self-leveling lap compound tube; call fantastic fans directly). The AC if he has any would need to be transferred, and if there isn't one now, this would be a great time to add it.

For only the $1100 plus a little work to get a basically new camper instead of making difficult repairs to a filon roof would be the way I would go. Garage storage and proper maintainance of the caulk and sealant afterwards will prevent a reoccurance of the rot.
