Campground is a mostly-perminant camper community, with about 10% sites rented to transients. located on Midddle peninsula, Mattews County, 20 miles W of Glochester, VA, 20 miles S of Urbana, VA. (read, middle of nowhere, 20 miles to nearest walmart). Small town of Mattews 12 miles away, with a grocery store, and a few restaraunts/shops, mostly closed during the week.

1 Plusses
  a. campgrtound is on the bay, with a small very sandy and mostly deserted beach
  b. marina for small boats/fishing. no boat rentals.
  c. adequate pool
  d. adequate and clean, but in need of update bathrooms
  e. friendly and competent staff
  4. mimimal rec room for teens, but air conditioned
2. minuses (mostly because the place is perrminant trailers)
  a. NO activities, of any type despite the fact that they advertise they have them(none of the perminant folks show up, so they just don't do them)
  b. mimimal camp store, ice/bread and souveniers (perminant folks don't use the place)
3. Cost $40/night, the cheapest we coud find for a campground on the water with a beach from Delaware to Outer banks.

Campground spots your trailer for you, so ou have to drop the rig at the entrance, and they come get it with a tractor. crew is good at this job. each site is full hookup, on the left side of campsite.
Our site was 10 yards form the beach-my wife and I spent as much time there as we could. Having teenagers however, we didn't get much beach time. it's 25 milse to anything considered civilization, Glouster has the movie theater (2-screens) the bowling alley and the walmart. 15 miles beyond that is Yorktown, VA, and the tourist corridor.  The teens are still calling this the trip from hell, they were so bored.
We liked the place, but had to leave early. A large fish kill washed thousands of dead minnows up onto the shore of the marina, ten yards from our camper. The stink and the flies sent us home early, and the staff was more than willing to refund our unused day. a minor benifit, we  missed the rain and wind from huricane Bob.

Would i recommend the place, yes. but be prepared to entertain yourself andyour children
