My new popup has a 20 lb tanks on the tongue with a regulator that runs into the pup it even has an external connection by the door to run the stove outside. What I would like to do is get a connector to add at the tank that would allow me to connect a hose and run my other grill (uses 1 lb tanks)  and or lantern some distance away from my pup with out having to disconnect the tank from the pup

I am thinking I would need a T or Y that has one connection to the 20lb tank with two male connection one or both still being the larger connection

I have a hose that has the large connection for the 20 lb tank and the small connection for either my lantern or grill.

Really would like ot not have ot add a 2nd 20lb tank to the tongue of my pup or have to carry several of those disposable green 1 lb cans of propane.

Using a "T" for a single 20 lb tank is quite common to do just what you have in mind to do. Obviously one side of the "T" is for the attachment to the camper's regulator and the other side to whatever accessory your using - only making sure it has it's own regulator.  For example, I use a "T" the same way and the accessory line is either going to an additional Coleman cook stove used outside or to a Mr.Buddy heater inside, and both appliances have their own regulators. Now I only "T" off the main tank for a very short stay, like maybe a weekend. When setting up for a longer stay, maybe for a week, especially during cooler weather, I carry an extra 20 lb L/P tank ... the Mr.Buddy heater can suck up some propane!

I have looked online and can not seem to find the right "T" does anyone have an idea of what it is called?

I've seen the tee you want once or twice.
What's more common is a tee that has a POL/ACME and a disposalable thread connector.

The "T" I use came from the Bass Pro Shop ~

They had the "T" and an assortment of optional adaptors that would fit maybe whatever else you might want to connect. If I remember correctly the Mr.Buddy hose fit the "T" with no adaptor but needed one for the connection to the camper's L/P regulator.
