Question about Campgrounds in St. Augustine

My son has a baseball tournament the first weekend in October. It is being held in St. Augustine. So we figured that
it would be a good time to try the pup out, instead of a hotel room. Figured it would be cheaper too.

To that end, does anyone have any suggestions (personal preferences or experiences) camping there? We would be looking for campgrounds that have things like hot and cold showers, clean bathrooms and possibly a pool and stuff to keep a bunch of 15 year olds occupied, between games.

Any suggestions and ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!

Don't have my guidebook handy to check other CGs, but this one is very popuplar...no pool, but close to the ocean.

North Beach is out on A1A and about four miles from the center of St. Augustine.

There is a pool and game room.  About a minute walk to the beach.  Bathrooms are on the older side but are kept clean.  Possibly renovations have been made in the bathrooms.

Most sites are shaded.

There are no set activities but check at the office if a pot luck or something else is going on.

Couple of pizza places about 2 1/2 miles away.

I have snowbirded at the cg for about three years and enjoy being there.

Highly recommend reservations.

I agree with Sandy about Anastasia.  I have also stayed there.  Nice shaded sites and clean restrooms.  Main drawback is that it is a bit of a walk to the beach.

Good luck

Gene,
I don't want you to forget how to shovel snow!!

I hope you and Terry are well. WE missed you both at the rally.

Mike, with this crazy weather, snow will find Gene no matter where he tries to hide;)

Well, we thought we might see some snow but we just got a little sleet.  Have to admit the past couple of weeks have been cold.  Down to 24 one night and in the 50 to 60's in the day.  Felt like nice cool late October weather in NH :)

Florida is agreeing with us but we will most likely head back to New England for July and part of August.
