A few weeks ago the bank and I purchased a Jayco Ex-Port 17Z.  After 14 years in a PU, 3 years in a 1985 Coleman Sun Valley and 11 years in a 1999 Coleman Nevada, I have gone hard side.  The Jayco is a HTT, so I still have tenting.:D  I have made some mods to the new trailer.  I added an outside shower which involved moving the city water intake, fantastic fan in the bathroom vent, a Max Air vent cover, front stabilizing jacks,a cover for the oven, a toilet riser, 12 volt ceiling jacks, shower surround, attached my "moose" shower curtain,  many shelves, hooks, flipped the medicine cabinet so it opens toward the wall, and I can't remember what else.  This trailer had most of the things I wanted in a trailer.  Under 20 foot, able to sleep at least 2 when "turtling", no bunkend support poles, a sky light in the bathroom, water lines inside of the trailer, sufficient tank capacities, a sofa, a fridge with a freezer, light weight, and a two bowl sink.  This trailer does not have the 2 bowl sink, but I can add that later if I decide to.  I have only gone on 2 trips with the Jayco, but it sure is easier to heat.  I love the seating arangement with the sofa across from the dinette.  It creates a nice socializing area.  I have slept on the sofa, the dinette, and the bed.  All are comfortable.  One of the nicest things with this trailer is that the tenting is permanently attached to the bunkends.  No Velcro, no bungy cord, no snaps.  Just undo the 2 lockable latches on the bunkend, lower the bunk, go inside and attach the "shepherds crook" to the bed bow.  Push the bed bow into place, and lay the mattress down.  No wet bedding.  I am very happy with my new trailer.:D

Congratulations on the new HTT. You will love the conveniences of the Htt.  I traded my Utah and bought a Roo 183 in September. You have managed to do alot of mods to yours already. Mine was buried under snow for most of the winter. Happy camping!!

You had to move all that just for a outside shower, I'll stick with the pup.

Congrats on the new rigs.

Thank you both.  :D

Congratulations (belated) on your new camper Tracy.  I am sure you will enjoy it as you have your PUPs.

Been off the forums for a while.  Hope to start keeping up better.  Is everyone also posting over at PUX?

Hi Jim, I don't know if people are posting at PUX or not.  I have not posed there in a long, long time.

OC Campers

We have the Jayco 23B and love it too.  It has so much seating space, storage and floor space.  The only two thing that we don't like are the drop in gas mileage.  We pretty much got 16-17 towing the popup and with the hybrid we are clapping our hands when we get 9 mpg and a the bank loan:yikes:.  Oh well, can't help either one so I have stopped worrying about it.

There are a couple of mods we have been thinking of but can't bring ourselves to drill a hole in her yet.:p

Congrats again on the new trailer.

I have also gained a payment and lost in the gas mileage area, so I understand.  Thank you for your congratulations.:)
