Hi! I haven't GeoCached yet, but would like to. I also would like to do a small contest at our annual Fellowship Camping Retreat. How does one go about setting one of these up? Or can you suggest a website to visit for info on setting up a series of caches? Thanks!

Try http://geocaching.com and do a search to see what caches might already be hidden close by. If you want to hide permanent caches at your retreat, the owners would have to give permission for you to do this. If it's just for the weekend then you can go around & hide a few yourself but still get permission.

To get a little more familiar with geocaching before your retreat you should visit the web page and do a search close to your home and go find a few caches to see how they're hidden & what kind of camouflage was used. Once you do this you'll be hooked :D .

Thanks SimiRich! I'll check out the website.
The cache(s) would be temporary and all contained within state forest land holdings. All caches would be along recognized trails, so as to have the least impact on the environment. I'm sure permission from the state would not be a problem, although perhaps I should ask NOW to be sure I hear back by June!
I guess the first step would be to find out how many in our group own GPS devices!!!
