I am heading west to Marana, AZ. next week. I have been planning this trip for some time now. The one thing I forgot to check out is the weather. I think it's going to be very HOT!!! But should be fun for all. The wife and I are taking 3 of our daughters and one of our granddaughters to visit more grandchildren and another daughter. We are taking the Suberban we have a TV and DVD in it. And the 12' popup. Never did a trip like this one but should be fun. I HOPE!!!
I think about 15-18 days.

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised, as here in the southwest we enjoy low humidity, which makes the heat much more bearable.  Have a great trip! :U

I just checked the weather for Marana, AZ. for next week and they say it will be 101-107 out I know they only have 20 persent humidity but OMG. I think it's HOT!!! I hope we can handle it.

You should be ok.  Just remember to drink lots of WATER.  Don't load up on sodas and caffeinated beverages.  Those contribute to dehydration.  We've already seen 109, and I live in this heat, but it's still hot. We're still getting acclimatized to the coming summer temps.  Low humidity helps to lessen the feel of the heat.  I think you'll be pleasantly surprised how well you will handle it.  It helps to have good air circulation, too.  At least Marana will cool down some at night.  This time of year the evenings are wonderful.  The coolest temperatures will happen just at sunrise.  Don't be surprised to find it still toasty late at night.  Wear a breathable wide-brimmed hat to keep the sun off your head and face.  Also, believe it or not, long sleeved shirts and long pants actually do help keep you cooler.  Oh, and don't forget sunscreen.  You will sunburn in no time at all.

You'll have a great time.  Let us know how the trip went.

Wow!!! Thank's I feel better. I will need to rethink the hat's normally we all wear baseball caps. Maybe we need something different. WE have the sunscreen and lot's of water already loaded.

Have a great trip and remember to take lots of pictures... those grandaughters will always remember this adventure!  Have fun :)

Well we made it. 15 days 9 campsites later and we are home. The heat was ok. 107 was the hottest day but it was not too bad. We got to Pikes Peek, The Grand Canyon, Tumbstone, Roswell, Branson, and many other stops along the way then home. 4785 miles 5 girls and I still have my sanity. all in all a very good trip. I am sure the kids will remember this trip for a long time.

Thanks to all for the support.

I'm glad you had a good time.  See? The 'dry' heat ain't so bad, is it? Don't misunderstand, for us desert-rats, anything over 110 is just plain HOT, and nobody's talking much about the weather except to grumble and wish October would get here real quick so we could see some cooler temps.

Where's the pictures?
