Our left blinker/brake light is not working on our camper.  I know it's not the bulb because if you attempt to plug the pigtail in backwards :D on the truck end then all of the lights flash, so it's not the bulb.  Then we replaced the 7 pin end of the pigtail (ours looked like it'd been dragged on the ground since before we purchased the camper) so I thought for sure that was it.  We also replaced the 6 pin on the camper side just to be safe.  :eyecrazy: Same problem, no left blinker or brake light (they are the same light).  Where do we go next?

Thanks,
Desera :p

Going through a troubleshooting process is the only way to find your problem. Last year, on a week-long camping trip, I discovered that our left blinker and brake light was not working at times. Sometimes it did work. When I got home, I started with the 7-pin Bargman connection on the trailer side, planning to work my way back. Luckily, I found pretty quickly a bad connection where the pigtail connects to the tongue of the trailer. I soldered that connection and coated it with liquid electrical tape, then regular electrical tape. I haven't had a problem since.

I hope you can find your problem as easily as I did. Just start at the front and work your way back (or vice versa). Be sure to check all grounds to make sure they are not corroded or rusty.

If you don't have a test light, get one at WalMart or a local auto parts store. They are only a few $. It will help immensely in your troubleshooting process. I have a small toolbox with some tools in it just for the camper. A test light is one of those tools that stays in there at all times.
