:eyecrazy:Help!  I need new tires for the PU.  Had Carlisle tire blow out on the highway.  Tires were properly inflated.  All of us & camper are fine.  The questions is what brand do I buy?  If you read it seems all brands are awful!  I need st185/80d13 Load D.  Any recomendations?  Original tires were Duro and had good experience but now seem to be complaints on line, my current Carlisle blew out, could not find proper size for Kenda tires, major warnings about made in china tires.  Whats left?  Another question is could I go radial instead of bias ply.  Fleetwood/Coleman recomended bias.  When asked why not radial they simply replied they were not tested on your camper.  Mainly I need a good safe brand with my size tire.  Help!

i do not know about quality of each brand...how ever ,i found out the hard way, that the different brand tires vary in size, even w/ the same size numbers......had a tire mounted at wallyworld 1 nite before a trip and the p/u frame bottomed out on the tire when the jack was lowered....then they would not let me return the tire because it was mounted,,,,,THEN you go early in the a m to beg the local trailer place to help you out, holding your wallyworld tire in your hand

I have a similar vintage Coleman/Fleetwood. I decided to go with radials, and I have not regretted it. The trailer tracks better with radials. The only thing is, you don't want one radial and one bias. This means that to be totally prepared, I should also replace my spare with a radial. I have not done so.

I like radials as well. I put new 14" Duro radials (rated @ 1875#) and steel valve stems on my trailer about 6-months ago. I really regret not moving up to 15" tires & wheels.

The bottom line is, all of these camping trailers are pretty well maxed out on the tire ratings for the trailers that they are used on. That's the biggest reason that so many people have blow-outs on these things.

If you're in the Los Angeles area and are interested in moving up to 14" Duros (if you have the clearance), I would make you a good deal on mine. They've only got about 2K miles on them. If you might be interested, I can give you the date code.

I fully intend to go with Duros again. I just lifted my trailer 2.5" to accommodate the 15" tires.
