 WayfarerHowdy[:D],

We ve belonged for about 4 years now.  Haven t taken advantage of the campgrounds, but have learned from the magazine.  Yeah, it has been worth it for us just for that reason.[:D]

WayfarerWe just received the same promo deal in the mail.  The only thing I would have been interested in was the mag, but Suezy posted a link to a free subscription for it, so now I m all set.  Thanks Suez.

Wayfarer" I don t really see myself joining, but the $12.00 annual fee (introductory?) is not much for a year. But, really, are Good Sam parks all that great? Is the savings all that much? Is their magazine worth reading? I keep getting their brochures in the mail and seems the price keeps getting lower. "

As far as I can see, the answer is NO. I received the same thing in the mail. I was into the insurance aspect of it but that was all. We have a camp grounds here that is under Good Sams but they take all memberships for a 10% off camping.

I was looking into there insurance for the trailer because my went up to 120.00 per year instead of the 95 dollars I was paying. Their isurance paid for total repacement instead of cost at time of need.[&:]

WayfarerWeighing the issue of whether or not to purchase a Good Sam membership seems to boil down to: Will you use their services, gain from their benefits, save money through their discounts often enough to match your expense for membership?

For us, the answer was no.  Our AAA insurance coverage & AAA s discounts offered us adequate coverage & savings not to purchase Good Sam s membership additionally.  Also, we mainly, at least so far, camp in state campgrounds which do not offer discounts to any memberships except seniors.  So, no savings through any membership would work for us in this regard.  Another issue to consider is the condoning & support Good Sam has for rodeos.  It s a personal preferrence that my DH & I adamently oppose supporting rodeos.

For some, the insurance coverage alone makes GS membership worthwhile.  And, for those who prefer to camp in private campgrounds, the discounts as well as some of the other perks make up for the expense of the membership.  As for rodeos, follow your own convictions.

 Peace be with you all.

 WayfarerHi Wayfarer,

We had a Good Sam s membership the first year we bought our popup and didn t renew it since we never used any of the benefits. We always camp at state parks instead of private ones, so the membership just wasn t for us.
