Well... Weather is awful... We leave for florida in 48 hours...

Would you keep snow tires on...

As it is, I   have have someone tow my Camper to a near by lot as I couldn t pull it off my own driveway (farm land).... They already pulled it out of the drift!

Do Snow tires offer less breaking grip?
I suspect they ll get a bit poorer millage...
 2 MPG * 200 Gallons ... that s alot!

Joe GleasonI have no experience towing with snow tires, but my general approach is to be equipped for the worst conditions I m likely to encounter.  Since you will possibly be towing in snow when you start out and when you return, that would mean I would leave them on.  But then, I m not paying for your gasoline.

Joe GleasonTRUE snow tires will wear faster, make more noise, and get slightly lower fuel economy.

Make sure that they are inflated to the max pressure allowed on the sidewall, because the tread will cause the tire to run hotter.

I can t tell where you are from, but I would rather put up with the cons than stand a chance getting stuck.

And yes, a true snow tire will generally be slightly worse braking than a  normal  tire.

If it is a concern, ever thought about taking your regular tires along, and changing them further South?  You got a Niagara, don t you need some more tongue weight?
