I just found out that the Jayco Designer has problems with the roof and end caps.  Jayco is already working on this problem.  Fixing it as soon as possible.  Jayco is very serious about putting out good products.   But, of course those of you wanting them may be put on hold.   At least they found out early in the game.

LocomotiveManThanks for the heads up.  I m not in the market, but I was disappointed that the RV show a couple of weeks ago did not have a Jayco Designer pop-up for the show.  I hope they work their roof problems out quicker than that other brand did.  I would also guess that they will stand behind their product as well as those other guys.

LocomotiveManI was at the RV show in Sacramento a couple of weeks ago and the Jayco guy did not have the Designer at that show either. Maybe the no shows have something to do with the " problems" .

LocomotiveManI thought the Quest and Eagle were Jaycos PU s and the Designer was a TT. Do they have a Designer PU now too?

Yes, they have a " new"  Designer series pop up.  It was featured on the cover of PUT 2 issues ago I think

 LocomotiveManLocomotiveman,

Bummer!  Seem to remember that you nad your wife had one on order.  What are your palns now?

We had narrowed our search to the Jayco Designer series and Starcraft Centennial series.  After reading your post we went ahead and purchased a Starcraft Centenial 3600 today.

 LocomotiveManRamblingWreck,

Just noticed your signature line--a Centennial!  Do you have it yet or is it on order?  I love the photos in PUT and on the Starcraft website.  Looks like they ve incorporated some great features!

 wssfetchSue and Terry,

We purchased a demo unit.  We are having A/C added and a winterizing kit installed.  Title will change hads on the 27th.  Dealer may have to store it for me a little after that.  Need the snow in my yard to melt and the ground to firm up so I ll have a place to park it.

Our children are so excited thay are beside themselves.  They have a week off from school in April.  We hope to take our maiden voyage then.

wssfetch

LocomotiveManThats really exciting!  You ll have to take pictures and post somewhere so we can all drool over it!

RamblingWreck

I just signed on -- actually, I m on a ten day eval -- so I haven t gotten any of the issues.

The Designer must be very new for them, because I can t even find it on there web page. Do you have a link? Jayco is one of the units I want to look at before I decide on which one to buy, so any additional info would be helpful.

 TIA...

jawilsonJayco is releasing very little information about the Designer Series.  Here is a link to a press release they issued:

 http://www.jayco.com/html/news/show_article.php?press_id=23

The Designer Series is replacing their Heritage Series.  There are three 12  and one 14  model.  The 12  all have front trunks.  The 14  has same floor plan as the Eagle 14SO.

I have no first hand knowledge about these trailers but have read that they are nicer inside than the Eagles.

If any of your family members are over 6  tall then they will appreciate the new Jayco s (Qwest, Eagle and Designer) as they have higher ceilings than previous years models.

Last issue of " Popup Times"  had an exterior photo of a Designer series included in their article reviewing the Louisville show.  I don t know where to direct to to see any interior photos.

The price approaches that of a hybrid.  Many dealers are refusing to stock them as they feel their is little demand at that price point (this includes my local dealer).  If you visit the Viking forum you will notice the had to discontinue a high end model as there was too little demand to keep an assembly line going.

LocomotiveMan

LocomotiveManThe problem is getting corrected.  It was just the roof, not the end caps.  The roof wasn t the same thickness on the sides.  It will be corrected.  We know everything is going to be alright now.  Jayco is the best.
