We want to rent an RV and drive to Williamsburg in April.  Please give me recommendations of great campgrounds there.  We have 4 kids, and in April they will be ages 9, 7, and almost-4 yr old twins.

 Thanks!

my4cutiesNot sure how close you want to be, but I remember from the the old forum quite a few people had liked the City of Newport News CG.  Here s the link:

Also if you check the other Williamsburg CGs, ask if they are near the railroad.  I think the Pottery one is.  That could noisy, not to mention nerve wracking with  young kids!

We haven t been yet ourselves but hopefully will make this year.  My SIL and her family want to do a weekend there with us.

my4cutiesPictures of Newport News Park & Campground are available on my website, just [link=http://www.gonecamping.net/reviews/va/newportnews.html]CLICK HERE[/link] for a complete picture review of the place.

There are a couple of KOA s there, but from what I ve seen of them, they don t interest me in the least. Most of the site s at NPN Park have electric and water hook-up s, and cost less per night than the KOA s.

We visited Williamsburg, VA last year in July and had a great time.  Through the web we found americanheritagervpark.com.  We found this place to be so great that in May when we go back for four days we have already bookied our old site.

The bathrooms were clean.  The pool was perfect.  We had a large shaded site.  There was pleanty of play ground area.  Wood for a fire was available at a very inexpensive price.

Anywhere that wanted to go to in Williamsburg was 10 to 15 minutes way.

We visited - Yorktown, Jamestown, Colonial Willliamsburg, Busch Gardens and the Water Park that is in the area.

Have a great time

I see you've dragged up an old post here (from the broken links that were made on the old Snitz forum)...

I have been American Heritage RV Park, and it is indeed clean, and a nice place with full hook-up's. They also have a swimming pool, something NPN Park doesn't have. Be that as it may, I think NPN Park is actually nicer in mnay ways, but depends on what you want out of a campground. For those that like the "State Park" look & feel of a campground, would like NPN Park. Site's at Am Heritage are way too close together and it has no playground for the kids.
