We purchased a Starcraft Centennial 3600 this afternoon.  It s pretty well loaded, both the convenience packages, gas oven, microwave, A/C, AM/FM/CD Player, screen room with privacy panels, aluminum wheels, 2 x bunkend fan/light units.

Dealer includes a fairly comprehensive start up package including port-a-potty, water pressure regulator, 30 amp to 15 amp adapter, hoses for city and gray water, etc.  To that we added a a BAL leveler and installation of winterizing kit.

We got a demo unit with white interior.  Dealer just found out that Starcraft will build the Centennials with the traditional brown cabinets upon request.

Title will change hands on the 27th.  " IF"  the snow has melted and my yard is firm enough I ll actually take delivery then as well.

We are considering naming it the White House.  In which case, what will we call the AAR?  We thought about naming it the West Wing or how about the Oval Office as we will have the port-a-potty there at night?  Suggestions welcome.

RamblingWreckCongratulations - I was looking at the Centennial in PUT mag and thought it looked really cool!  I was amazed at all they had in them!

 Enjoy it![:D]

RamblingWreckCongratulations on your new PU.  I am glad they are going to make them with the brown cabinets.  I looked at the white and it just seemed too white, if that makes any since.  I love the oven you are getting.  That will expand what you can make with your meals.  If you are looking to camp with a group, COTOC has a trip to North South Lake state park in New York, May 9th weekend.

RamblingWreckHey Wramblingwreck, first of all congratulations, and isn t it time you changed your nick name to spankingnewcentennial ? [:D][:D]

RamblingWreck

tlhdocThank you for the invitation.  My wife is a Brownie leader and is taking her troop camping that weekend, so I am afraid we will have to decline.  Maybe some other time?

I after reading your suggestion, DW came up with the idea of naming the trailer " The White Palace"  as a play the Hermitage aka the Winter Palace.

Thanks for the post on my thread inquiring about Point Lookout SP, MD.

RamblingWreckRobert, CONGRATS!!!!  You are the first person to have an * 04* in their signature.[;)]

I really like the Centennial line. Lots of good ideas. How d they do the supsension and the 14"  tires? As for the AAR name-- Lincoln s never slept in your AAR, and he actually never slept in the Lincoln bedroom of the White house, so they have something in common. Plus, he basically grew up doing what we call now call camping (you know: a log cabin, dirt floors, chopping wood...). How about the Linclon Room?

got woody?

 RamblingWreckBob,

Good for you!  We talked about looking for each other s  I bought one  posts, and here we are typing them the same weekend!

I know you re going to love that Centennial.  As far as names, when the Starcraft Apollo was on our short list, we decided on  the LEM  or lunar excursion module in honor of the guys from Apollo 13 who " camped"  in theirs for five days and it saved their lives.

With a " historical"  sounding model name like Centennial, and having bought during such a memorable winter, White Palace sounds great.

Just think of how cool you are going to feel after spending a hot August day of sightseeing and saying " Let s return to the Palace"

 see you around the campfire,

RamblingWreck

 Ab DiverDave,

I ll have to check on the details of the suspension and get back to you.

I am revisiting my thoughts on naming the camper the White House or White Palace.  For a little over 5 years I frequently traveled in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) formerly known as the USSR.

Every day folk saved to buy a small plot of land on which they could build a small  building, roughly 10 x10 .  These summer weekend retreats are known as dachas.

The size of the average campsite and dimensions of a popup remind me of those days.  Some I am considering going with the name Beladacha, which translates to white dacha.  The name seems less pretentious and more intrigueing.

cavman

 RamblingWreckNah Nah Nah

Since Ginger will be along, I think it should be Ginger s Place.

 Congrats on the new toy.

RamblingWreck

 cavmanCaveman,

 Thanks for the congratulatory message.

I don t think many campgrounds would appreciate Ginger.  She is a very high energy dog, a joy to walk behind in the field who hooks back about the time she gets out of sight.

In the best of times she enjoys barking and in her current condition it s nonstop.  Don t get me wrong, she has an excellent disposition, my children can easily handle her.  She barks to say hello, play with me, etc.

The male, Henry, is a really sweet puppy (6mos) and would most likely be welcomed at a campground that accepts pets.  Henry has a tendancy to get car sick so he most likely will be boarded.

There is a kennel near by that we use some.  Not to far away is a bird dog school that boards.  Depends on when we camp, how long we will be gone and which dog needs a little field work as to which we will use.

NightOwl

RamblingWreckBob, I vote for Beladacha for the reasons you mentioned and also because in many Romance languages, varied forms of " bela"  (bella) mean " beautiful"  and a brand new Centennial MUST be beautiful!  Congratulations!

RamblingWreckI like Beladacha....great conversation starter...hmmm do they make onion dome tacky lights???
