Does anyone have any experience with Point Lookout State Park, MD?  Our children s school has spring break from April 18th -27th and we were considering trying to make it to there to camp.  Our Camper has a 16,000 BTU gas heater.

RamblingWreckI have looked at this park several times, but the schedule always changes - so have not made it yet.

If it is similar to other Maryland State Parks, you should be happy.  I have always found them clean and very comfortable to camp in.

If you are looking for an electrical site, I would make reservations as soon as you can.  I think they only have around 27 electric sites.  The rest are dry with water close by.

got woody?

RamblingWreckhey Bob, let us know if you end up making it down this way, we d love to meet you.

Tim was right about Maryland state parks, there are quite a few, in very diverse areas (mountains vs. beaches etc.) and have lots to offer.

I posted a link in the Rocky Gap thread about that one so I still have it on my clipboard http://www.dnr.state.md.us/publiclands

You can use that to explore more.

RamblingWreckIt s a great park. Lots of history in the area, great fort to explore, crabbing and best of all  ghosts  I ll let you find that out by yourself. [8D]
Some Nice electric spots along the water separated by reed grasses so you have virtual privacy. We enjoyed it and I d recommend it.
 Peace

we have been to pointlookout state park. They have nice showers and great and helpful hostes we thought to was great for us, they had  alot to do. the little wildlife & civil war museum was nice. we rented a canoe for a day $10 and paddled in the lake. we also like to go crabbing there they have good spots some times you are lucky and catch some nice sweet ones  . every time we go to the park we see alot of poles in the water but nobody is catching any fish :o They do have a nice beach and a lighthouse that you can visit, and we played a good round of minigolf.we prefer not to go on big weekends, there are so many people that you really can't enjoy it(snoring in other sites) .one night, we were there it was so nice that some of the kids in park on the ground and looked at the stars. :W
