GuestI don t have any thing in mind yet.  Do you have any suggestions?

 tlhdocTracy,

Hard for me to say because I have not seen what you have had in the past. If the price is right, and the time of the year, some nice sweat shrits with hoods, either zip up or pullover type. I Know T-shirts are always in style. Maybe some sort of design on the cloth itself relating to the club, time frame, and location of the trip.

 tlhdocTracy,

Sorry, was not logged in. Top info is from me.

 GuestHello all,
I was HR SP last week  6-18 thru 21 (left sat. due to the HEAVY rains)
Just wanted to let everyone know they installed bear proof dumpsters and the bears don t like it very much!!
The bears are very active we saw 5 within 30 ft of our site (#263) tracy take note one even came between the bunkend and the tree behind the site while I was sitting under the canopy!  I said " GIT"  and he took off running.  Then there was a sow with 2 cubs that tried to get into the dumpster right beside our site.  The other one we saw was the one with the hurt front left paw that the rangers call " Gimpy"  she was walking down in the woods while we were setting up wednesday eve. the guy next to us got some pics of her raiding the picnic table of some campers a few sites down from us.  We saw plenty of deer but the laurel is late blooming this year due to the weather and it was only about 50% of peak. [:(]
We had beautiful weather wed. & thur.. We went swimming, played frisbee golf, and did some hiking and of course visited boulder field.
It started raining at 1am fri. and didn t stop(except for about an hour at lunch time fri. when my son & I went for a walk and as soon as we got back it started to pour again.)  until after we left sat.
One more thing the rangers said it would be a good idea to keep ALL food in your vehicle if your in a PU or tent (we only kept a few drinks and condiments in the fridge)  because they are unsure how the bears are going to get throughout the summer without being able to get food from the dumpsters anymore.

Hope you all have a good time in sept. wish I could make it.  I m hoping to go back over Columbus day weekend.

 GuestMike,
Last year we were camping with the COTOC group and we stayed on 262, Tracy on 264. We had 2 bears continually visiting the cg and one especially liked 263, returning time and time again. Later we discovered that the campers there had cooked bacon over the fire and the bear liked the drippings. I think he also liked excaping into the woods behind 263/265. The other bear preferred the garbage dumpster by the bathroom. Glad you didn t have any major problems with them. Like you suggested, we kept our coolers in our van and didn t keep any food items/trash around. We also have a NO hairspray/smelly stuff in the popup rule for our teenage daughter. The bears we have here in Northern NJ seem more brazen. Not sure where I m safer, camping or hanging out in my own backyard.

tlhdocMade my reservations today for Sep 26-28, site 216 (since we will bring Ginger) too bad they didn t have more of a selection for pets sites, but at least they did have a few.  Had a great time at Eastern Rally in VA, so we are looking forward to meeting some of you again here & some new friends too.

debbiedee1957I am happy to see that you are going to make the trip.  See you in a few months.

debbiedee1957All right Deb!! The first group campout is sometimes a question mark since these are people that are met over the internet and you never know about the internet... Glad to see you are coming!

tlhdoc

debbiedee1957Paula she does know a few of us.[;)]

debbiedee1957I m sorry, I was kinda vague...Deb NOW knnows some of us. She took the leap and went to the rally.
Our first group outting, Raymond was kinda skeptical, noting all the news reports about meeting perverts (can I use that word??) on the internet. He was pleasantly suprised at that first MAPCE outting two years ago. He saw Jeffrey click with other youngsters his age and saw that Jeffrey had a great time AND the best of all...everyone was great! But it was that fiirst step into the the world of meeting others on the internet, then going out and meeting them in person(s).
I on the other hand was not worried about meeting the MAPCE people, call it niave, Raymond calls it being ignorant of the facts of life. But as they say...ignorance is bliss and I am careful.

debbiedee1957I am thinking that the smell of Fall will be in the air then, Fall is my favorite time of year [:)]

Camping with folks from PopUp Times is definately the way to go.  BTW I have met many " nice"  " normal"  people from the internet, of course a few wakco s here & there, but that s life.

I am now looking for something in August....

Has anyone ever considered camping near Frank Lloyd Wrights " Falling Water"  in PA???  I wanna go there[8D]

debbiedee1957MAPCE (also the Midatlantic Forum here on PUT) is talking about an August trip to Traps Pond. in extreme Southern DE either the first or second week in AUgust. A little too far??

PUT and MAPCE people are great! Even Raymond agrees.

debbiedee1957Thanks Paula, I had seen that one listed....but I can t take the heat.  I really don t like hot weather...UGH.
