 Lar,

You can always refer her to the Nick-Neff-Cough website bylaw #7:

Quote#7: Any repair, modification, or malady solved shall be referred to as " deshnitzifying"  the popup

Thus you absolve yourself of any further responsibility on the matter. [:)]

But you were right, all campers come from the factory schnitzified. It s our responsibility as owners to " deschnitzify"  them.

 Brian,

Thanks I will refer her to the aforesaid bylaw.  I realize that as a plank owner in the NNC organization, this should have been an automatic response, but she blind sided me!!  I will submit to retraining as required by the laws that govern us as an organization.  I ask for leniency however as she caught me at a weak moment and I was tired and hungry at the time.

 Happy Campin  <><

SurfcalI hope my DW dosen t read the post . Because she want s me to install new tile flooring in the camper. But i like your idea of wood flooring.       ithink i will talk her into that instead.

Nick

SurfcalRay, the floor looks great.  Are planing on puting any door over the cabinet with the microwave?

Surfcal

 SurfcalHey Nick:

Good to see ya.  Yeah, it does look kinda gadgety or proletarian with that thing being exposed like that.  But, I think I ll have a hell of a time trying to match the grain of that.  But you just gave me an idea.  I will explore that angle see if Starcraft can help me out.

Thanks for furthering my deshnitzifying idea.

P.S.  I was also thinking, you know how that sink kind of folds down?  What if I replaced that with a flat-screen monitor and cabinetry because I never use the water hook-ups and sink anyway, I can have a full fold-up entertainment center.  I will think hard on that.

 SurfcalSurfcal,
The floor turned out great! For us in the north and east, thermostat controlled hot water tubes running through those floor boards would be an added benefit in the cold winter months. Now, who s going to do that for us? [:o][;)][:(]

You know, I realize we are pretty lucky here in CA.  Most of us, except fo those in the higher elevations, don t have to put up with the extreme weather you folks have to deal with.  That s why I felt pretty confident experimenting with this stuff.  If I had to deal with really cold temperatures, who knows, this thing could feel as cold as a metal plate.

I ve yet to camp and experience the deshnitzify, but I m looking forward to it.  I also think that it ll be easier to keep clean rather than that carpet action.  And if at any point it s a failure, I ll let everyone know.  I guess I ve volunteered to be the guinea pig.  Maybe you ll hear about it in a year.

 Regards,
 Surfcal

That wood in your camper looks like it s pine or red oak. At home depot. You can buy thease types of wood. And make a custom door.

I m not following you.  Are you saying to match the interior lining on the door?  I m interested in your ideas.
