Red neff Barchetta

 Mine, not Don Henley s.
This is a mild annoyance that we haven t come up with a great solution for yet.  We have a large canvas laundry bag that is hidden on one of the bunks during the day and is moved to a dinette seat during the night.  For wet clothes such as bathing suits, we hang them on a line under the rear bunk-end out of site.  I was just wondering what others did for storing/hiding dirty laundry that accumulates over a w/e.

Red neff BarchettaOur dirty clothes go into a laundry bag and that bag goes into the Utah s trunk, through the interior door. The dirty clothes bag is never left out in the camper.
Wet bathing suits, etc. are usually hung outside on a clothes line.

Red neff BarchettaI saw a neat little folding mesh hamper somewhere on the web..... but I don t remember where.  Maybe someone who knows what I am talking about can post a link.

Red neff BarchettaThanks for the replies!  That is much more appealing than a canvas bag.  We still have the problem of having to move it around the PU throughout the day and night.  We have too many other things in the front storage trunk.

Red neff BarchettaWe use a Rubbermaid box.  It can go in the AAR, has a tight fitting top and is really handy when we want to go to the laundromat as the clean clothes can be folded back into it.

Red neff BarchettaOur dirty laundry is stuffed in to a laundry bag and squished into the trunk of the Mesa.  Actually we also stuff our shoes in there, too - unless they are beyond muddy.

We have a folding dry rack we place under the bunk ends to dry the wet stuff,  and have been know to drape the towels inside over the sheperd s crooks if it is too windy or wet outside.

Red neff BarchettaBed,Bath and Beyond has the folding mesh pop-up hampers.  Also mesh drawstring laundry bags.  I don t have a storage trunk so dirty laundy goes in the bag or hamper.  I put that plus shoes in the porta potty storage area (since the potty goes outside).

Red neff BarchettaUnder the dinette seats for us.

Not sure Jeff if your Utah has the doors to access the space under the dinette seats, but it s an easy mod(dechintzification) to do.
The left dinette seat is used for dirty laundry, just open the door, and throw it in, then as we are packing up, it all gets transfered to a dirty pillow case.
The right dinette seat we use as a shoe locker, to keep the floor clear.

Red neff BarchettaGreat idea Kevin!  How come I never noticed where you stash yours?  I guess because it s never in eyesight.  Maybe this w/e at the rally you can now help me then figure out where to put all of the pots, pans, and dishes, lol.
Of course I ll have the fridge well stocked with Ale s so we can stand around and tackle this problem.

OC Campers

Red neff BarchettaWe use the folding laundry hamper.  It reminds me of my kids " play hut" .  It folds into a small circle.  We pull it out and stick it under one of the bunk ends.  I bought my original from QVC but just bought another at Home Depot.  Have also seent them at Bed Bath and Beyond and those sort of places.

I also put a " stuff bag"  in the bottom so that after our trip I throw all the clean camping stuff like kitchen towels, pot holders, bath towels and the folded up hamper back in the " stuff bag"  and it is ready for our next camping trip.

Red neff BarchettaYou all seem far more fastidious than I am, so I don t know if I should admit my system....but it works for me.  I turn used (some people would call them dirty, I guess!) shorts and shirts inside out, fold them neatly and put them under my clean shorts and shirts.  If they re stinky, like maybe from campfire, I double bag  them in plastic grocery bags before I store them.  Underwear, socks and dried washcloths get tied in individual knots, so I know right away which have been used.  Then I store them in the same manner.  When it s time to go home, everything that s dirty gets dumped into pillowslips that we re taking home to wash.  Whatever is still clean goes back into the bags they came in.  I think my method saves space and keeps the PU neat.  Like I say, it works for me!

Red neff BarchettaI pack the dirty laundry in plastic grocery bags each night and then stuff them into a duffel bad.  If it is a long trip (more than 7 days) we usually end up washing clothes.  I haul them in the duffel and then put the clean clothes back in the bag.  We often hang wet stuff on the awning guide lines and on the awning itself.  I also have a folding wooden rack to hang clothes on, If I get it out.[:D]

Red neff BarchettaWhat works best for us is a plastic laundry basket under the front dinnette seat.  We just lift up the seat cushion and put the laundry in the basket.  We need to remember to get it out from under the seat before we pop down and then it goes in the back of the tv.  For wet bathing suits and towels, I stretch a bungee cord between the supports under the bunk ends and hang stuff on that.  Makes a neat and out of the way clothes line.

Red neff BarchettaI use one of the folding mesh hampers.  I bought it from Wal-Mart.  I store it on the edge of one bunk next to the curtain at the foot to hide it from view.  Easy to get to and out of sight[:)]  Less than $10 also.
