Has anyone been here ? Need information on some good sites?

Looking at going sometime in June. Had to do some changing so was wondering if anyone has been here. What is it like. How close to Gettysburg is it ?

whitestar505Try emailing Bearbait, he has a very cpmprehensive list of parks and good campsites.  Good luck.[8D][8D][8D]

whitestar505I am the guest, as usual, my computer keeps messing up and I can t post, then I can, then I can t, then I am guest....so go figure.  This new message board is a real challenge to my computer these days.  Now it likes me and I can post.  Duh...what was the question?[8D][8D][8D]

whitestar505

HersheyGirlJust did not know who you were. Thanks for letting me know.

If I recall correctly you work for the PA State Park System? Yes, No,,

HersheyGirl

whitestar505No, I don t work outside of the home.  But I am a registered nurse by profession in a former life.
Bearbait has a really good list of the state parks and all of their campgrounds.  He would be the one to ask.  His wife is Honeybee.  Very good folks.[8D][8D][8D]

whitestar505Whitestar505, did you find out anything about the park? We will be staying there for 3 nights in June before continuing on to the rally. We can lrt you know after that but it probably won t help if you are also looking at June. It is one of the campgrounds in the PA state parks that will let you bring dogs. Although they have certain sites that you must stay at. I m not sure on the time to Gettysburg but did notice an hour to Lancaster. Let us know what you find out. TIA

 homecrewhomecrew ,

I am still waiting to hear back from BearBait on this park. I did make reservation for the 12th -15th of June. Will be on site 77.[:)]

  Will keep you posted.

homecrew

whitestar505We will be there 6/20 thru 6/23. By the way, if you forget anything, just let us know. We are on site 77, as well[:D]

whitestar505

homecrewOK, Will keep it nice and clean for you. Site 77 is going to be busy this year huh.

 Do you have any pets?

TJWSANTAFE

 whitestar505This park is very interesting;
 First: no pets.
Second: There is only two loops with power and shade. There are plenty of spaces that have w/e, however they are in the open. This may be good for the larger RV s, but for a popup, that sun will heat up your camper.

There is a large lake, and a swimming pool (for a price). You can rent canoes/paddle boats/pontoon boats. There is not store in the campground.

We only stayed there once due to the no pet rule.
This was about two years ago.
 I hope that this helped.

No pet rule has changed according to PA DCNR for the 2003 camping year.

 Thanks for the info.[:D]

 homecrewHomecrew,

I was there over the weekend but it was closed until later April. We did walk around and it was very nice. Lots of trees and leaves. It sets all most on the lake front. I know it is not much to add but it was miserable on Saturday there.
