Acts 2:38 girlwhat a sicko [:D]..... " donner, party of three"  indeed!

well, i now have a REALLY dumb question: is a 5-gallon (or was it a 3-gallon one?) bucket the paint bucket size?  I tried it with the " mopping the floor"  bucket but didnt  " catch"  anything.

Then I thought that because it has a wide lip, that might have interfered.

Acts 2:38 girlYes the paint bucket is the size.  It has to be tall enough that the mouse can t jump out of it.

Acts 2:38 girl

Acts 2:38 girlThose little buggers can JUMP!!  Once when I was a kid one got trapped on an empty 10 gallon fish tank and jumped right out of it!!

Acts 2:38 girlWe don t have mice because we have 3 cats. My mom s old house had them until she got a cat. Now this cat didn t kill them right away. He would catch them. and the mouse would play dead. LOL .This cat would then throw them up in the air and they would go eeeeeeee. .When they would land they would try and take off . The cat would catch them And start the process all over again. We would laugh our rears off. My brothers would say hay lets get a six pack and go watch teh cat catch mice and mom s house. Cheap enterainment. What would you expect from 4 polish kids.

Acts 2:38 girlnot being a cat person, myself.....i have two small doggies and they go bazonkers when the mice are about..but catch  em??? naaah...no can do.

HOWEVER, the bigger one (20 lbs) is great at catching the poor wee geckos (think: Geigo commercial[8D]   They re all over the place...on the rear deck and inside...climbing up the walls...they don t bother me at all...good at catching insects.

I have to keep trying to distract the dog to give the geckos a chance to escape.

One sad thing a week ago was that I opened up the patio umbrella for the first time in a couple of months and a gecko scrambled out.  Then I saw a few (6 or 7?) white balls on my friends breakfast plate.  Ummmm....we weren t having eggs for breakfast [: (] so I placed the gecko eggs in a planter.  Momma gecko doesn t seem to have gone back and found them.

But momma duck is happily sitting on 11 eggs right under the tree with the bird feeders.   When I go out in the morning, she gets up, stretches, and is first at the chow line.

Another duck only has one baby.....cats or the visiting hawk or heron might have gotten the rest...or kids!

One night I heard a duckling " crying"  and saw that it was in a green heron s bill.  I tried shooing the heron, hoping it would drop the baby duck, but it flew to the other side of the lake with duckling in mouth.  bummer.  i thought they only took wee things.
