I m curious how much everyone paid for their second homes, and where they got them.
I ll start, my 81 Palomino was $350.  I bought it from someone who had it in their front yard.

SuezyqueI paid $1200 for my first PU, a 1987 Coleman Sun Valley.  It was garage kept and looked like new.  I bought it in 1996 from an older lady.  They had only used it a few times.  My second PU the Nevada I bought new from my local dealer (Rhone s Travel Trailers, Cogan Station PA) for $7000 and they gave me $1200 trade in on my 1987 Sun Valley.  It had an awning, refrigerator and furnace as options.  They threw in a camper caddie and vanity mate to close the deal.

SuezyqueWe found out the original price of our Starcraft, with tax, was about $8,900 when the original owners bought it in 4/99.... we just paid $5,995 and it is now 4 years old!   Did we totally get taken for a ride, or what?   Do Starcraft campers REALLY hold their value THAT much, or did the dealer over-charge?

Feeling a little bummed in Pennsylvania,

SuezyqueOur first rig was a 74 Cadbury Venture we picked up in  99 for $700. We sold it last April for $550 after we got our 85 Palomino. The Pal was picked up from the original owner, who had it stored in their son s garage for the past 6 yrs., for $2300, in like new condition.[8D]

SuezyqueIn 1990 we bought a  76 Coleman Valley Forge (8  box) for $800 and in  96 we sold it for $800 and bought a new  95 Coleman Cape Cod (11  box) for $5,800 and we re still loving it!

SuezyqueOur first popup was an old yukky Palomino that we paid $500 for, a year later we sold it for $500 and bought our current pu, a 1996 Coleman Yukon for (I think) $3,800.

SuezyqueThere seems to be a thread of buying and selling your first PU for the same price.[:D]

SuezyqueI bought my  95 Jayco Eagle8 pop up last August for $2600.  It was in great shape & it has been one of the most enjoable purchases I have ever made.

Suezyque[:)] We bought our brand-new camper for $3500.00 back in November.  Concidering it has air, heat and fridge, I think we did pretty good.

SuezyqueWe bought our 2001 Coleman Sedona for $3500 last Spring from a dealer. It was a previous year RV show " leftover" . It was new, never been slept in, but  had been used as a demo.

SuezyqueSanta bought our 1st & only PU, the 1999 Coleman Nevada, for Christmas in 1999.  Don t know what the actual price was, of course, it wouldn t be polite to ask Santa anyway.[;)][:D]

 Peace be with you all.

Camperroo

67_SkamperI think we paid about 6400 for our 2000 Palomino Yearling.

Camping Coxes

SuezyqueWe paid $200 for our  72 Viking, and a year later, decided we wanted a newer, improved model (it was in rough shape -- more duct tape than canvas).  We gave it to friends and bougth our  95 Rockwood (8  box) for $3,000.  We sold it last December for $2,000, and bought our  98 Coleman Sun Ridge for $5,500.  We ll have this one for a long time, since we re not having any more kids and don t anticipate outgrowing it.
