WayfarerLoadedCamera...you can email him by clicking on the icon next to his name.  I did send him a note asking if I could copy his post to another forum and he wrote me back saying it was fine to do.   What he wrote was truly inspirational.

WayfarerNo I do not really believe that they give exact information, but some of the information would be better left unsaid.  I was trying to say what you said Bikolee, that war should not be televised, guess I just did not say it in the right way.

Wayfarer

WayfarerHey, folks - I did not write the letter; rather, I copied it  from an email I received and indicated at the bottom that it was copied.  I did not research it but was so impressed by what was said, regardless of exactly who said it, that I chose to share it on PUT.

Thanks for the many thoughtful comments.  You may certainly do with the letter as you feel led.

WayfarerI have to say that this is not my comments.  I had sent this post around my office, and this is a response that I received from a former AF officer.  Unbelievable!  Needless to say, I have lost all respect for him.  My response back to him was cool to say the least.  The information that he sent me is wonderfully detailed and totally un-verifiable.  It amazes me how much some folks will go to either gather the most vile information to support thier cause or beliefs.  Anyway - here is his response to the original post.

While I as a fellow citizen and human being support the troops who have been put in harms way and pray for the safe return of as many as possible, I do not trust the administration that put them there. I do not agree with the reasoning or timing thrust forth by this administration. If you want to make an argument in favor of their position that is fine, but the content of the message forwarded seems to focus on attacking those who would disagree or question the current actions. Then makes the outlandish presumption of describing what happened on those aircraft on 9/11. How do we know that the beverage service was not tampered with or gas was not used to disable passengers before taking control. We simply do not have all the details and most likely will never.

The discussion about the media only show the ignorance of the author in thinking it is just that simple. With all of the avenues available to communicate to the masses and all of the different flavors of reporting available taking the stance that the " liberal media"  is to blame is not really valid.

The author seems to miss the point of educated Democratic debate. They also view the world as black and white, " you are either with us or against us."  No, not really I can be against you on one point and with you on another. Because I do not believe in the reasoning for war does not mean that I agree with the principles put for by our opponent. Nor does it mean that I wish ill will towards those taking up arms. Yet it a living democracy the debate does not end. The discussion continues. The struggle for understanding continues and blind acceptance is not living up to the responsibilities of being an engaged citizen in a Democracy.

Oh and in response to the Clinton bashing statement let s take a look at the attached documents and website to see how wonderful the last three Republican Presidents have been. I still remember watching as President Bush Senior cut more than half of the programs out at Norton in one State of the Union address.

WayfarerI m sorry, I had trouble following this last response & weeding through all the typos.  To which post is this co-worker referring to?  Where was the Clinton bashing?--Slick Willy literately made his own bed & deserves all that is thrown at him.  What is painfully sad is this co-worker apparently served in the military & yet, still doesn t realize the US is a " Republic"  not a " Democracy" .   However, I really don t want to get into any political debate here....it just gets too ugly.  Let s just keep things as pleasant as possible during these strenuous times.[:)]

 Peace be with you all.
