 whitestar505I do, I do!

It s located in northern PA, around Wellsboro.  Either Potter or Tioga County.

kathybrjOK, The e-mail info is that it is located in Tioga County and yes Wellsboro is located in the area. The Colton SP is located there also. They say Wellsboro is beautiful at night with the old gas lights.

Yes there is one Kathy.[:D]  It is in the Tioga State Forest, near Wellsboro, PA.  Not to far from the New York border.

whitestar505We spent a week there last year in the early fall. It is a beautiful area. There are some really great finds as far as campgrounds as well. BLM has a couple of areas about 30 mins north. (Have the brochures hear somewhere)

Tioga- Hammond Lakes & Cowanesque Lakes, US Army Corp of Engineers just north of Mansfield. Hammond Lakes area has water & electric sites. Full Hool up is $20.00 and no hook up is $17.00. We didn t stay there but when we go back this is where we ll stay.

whitestar505We are THERE at least once a year and sometimes twice.  Can t get enough.  Don t limit yourself to the tourist areas only...it s a BIG place.  Here some info I compiled.

Pennsylvania Grand Canyon ? Favorite Helpful Links

** Leonard Harrison State Park (Upper Canyon ? Rim/East Side) The more popular side of the canyon and closest to Historic Wellsboro, PA.

** Colton Point State Park (Upper Canyon ? Rim/West Side) ? I think this is dry camping only.

** Canyon Country Campground (Upper Canyon on Rim) Private campground.  Not a favorite of mine but they have some good links.

** Pettecote Junction Campground (Lower Canyon/creek side) Our current personal favorite.  Nice mix of seasonal and non-seasonal sites.  I would say the facilities rate towards average with some room for improvement.  The sites are roomy and the direct access to Pine Creek, Rails-to-Trails and ALL the State Forests have to offer, more than make up for any short comings.  Quiet, clean and reasonably priced and nice folks too.

whitestar505I have nt been to Harrison SP in PA, but if you get a chance, try to get to Providence Canyon SP, AKA Georgia s " Little Grand Canyon"  it s well worth the trip. We stayed at Florence Marina SP a very well maintained Georgia park. Here is a link  http://gastateparks.org/info/providence/
