These are cool popup pet tents that can be used inside the car (attach with velcro) or outside as free-standing tents.  I just don t like the prices...they start at $80

OK, SZYQ, can you find  em cheaper for us[;)]

sandykayakbut then, how would Pharaoh drool all over the back seat,a nd how would Cush get nose smudge prints all over the windows?!

sandykayakWe use these pop-up mesh crates all the time at shows and at training class where you need something very light weight and with good ventilation:

They are no substitute, however, for a wire crates in the vehicle.  A wire crate will protect your pet from becoming a missle should you slam on the brakes suddenly or be hit from behind.  And it will keep your pet from accidently jumping out of open windows or doors when you stop.

sandykayakhee hee.....I know our " personal shopper"  would come up with something good.  Unfortunately, my work computer is tempermental and I couldn t view the fist URL.

The second one reminded me that I do have a small popup (like the cat one) for when I just had Charley.

However, the last one had definite potential - not quite enough mesh, but the holes could be widened.

As for making them yourself....it says they sell the spring wires, but do they come with the patterns as well?

Sue, I wasn t wild about the one you posted, mostly because they don t seem to have enough ventilation.

I have schlepped the plastic travel crate in my van in case I have to leave them somewhere and might be allowed to leave them in an air conditioned area.  I bought the XL so both doggies will have plenty of room.

This was fun.  I know I had another challenge for suzey, but darned if I can remember what it was!!  She certainly " passed"  the first " test"  [;)]

sandykayakSandy,  it has plenty of ventilation as it is all mesh except for the bottom.  Even the top of the crate is mesh.  The bottom is something similar to gortex as that is part on the ground but the rest of it is completely mesh.
