Does the Bayside come with shower/toliet option?  I know of one for sale, I haven t had the chance to go look at it yet, but one feature I really want is the shower/toliet combo. However, I like the added space the slide out gives.  Any of you that own a Bayside how do you like yours?

6Quigs

luvtacampWe have a Niagara, and it came with the shower/Toilet combo.
The Bayside only has the casette toilet, with the outside shower.
The Bayside is roomier inside than the Niagara, but I personally would not sarcrafice the shower for the extra space.

See Coleman s website for more info.

luvtacampI would rather have the Niagara, but we found a used 99 Bayside for sale.  The outside shower wouldn t be too bad though.  Looks like there s a lot of storage space in the Bayside, I wonder if my handy DH could build an inside shower.  Seems like I saw someone mention that on here before.  Anyway, if we could get a good deal on the Bayside and figure out something for a shower/ or be satified with the outdoor shower, it might work.

luvtacamp6Quigs is correct.  If you want a built-in shower/potty among Coleman s Elite series, you need a Niagara. We opted for a Bayside because doing the duty in the kitchen isn t very appealing to us[: (], and we don t have small children.

luvtacampWe do have two children and that s a big reason for wanting shower/potty combo.  For safety reasons it s a good idea, especially at night.  I m particular about the cleaning, so I m not too worried about the kitchen being right there. To me it s worse to have to take my 3 year old to the yucky shower in the bathhouse. The extra room the Bayside offers would be nice also.  We don t spend much time in the pu anyway unless the weather is bad.  But we might if we had more room, our pu now is very compact.  We like it, but we re ready to move up to a larger one.

Woody

luvtacampWe noodled on the 2003.5 Utah, Bayside, and Niagara for months and finally decided on the Bayside because of the extra room. We tented with the girls when they were little so all are mostly ok with less-than-perfect bathhouses. We re also purchasing a porta-potti and tepee to use when facilities are  ugly . The Utah is awesome too....it was a tough call, but so far we love the Bayside.

luvtacampI love the room in my Bayside!!!  When we got it our DD were about 3 & 7.  We have a porta-potty for nighttime and/or early morning needs.  It has so much wonderful space!  We don t as a rule spend alot of time in the camper, but for rainy days, evenings when campfires aren t possible, etc... you really need the room!!  We bought this camper to replace a smaller one & intend on having it for the long haul.  I didn t mind taking my little ones to the campground facilities (and so far I haven t found nasty ones) and as they are older it will be even less of a problem.  I also figured I needed all the storage space I could get so I didn t even look at models with the cassette toilet/shower.

Think about how you will use it down the road, it s a lot of money to spend.

luvtacampWe have a Utah and love having the cassette toilet.  It is a breeze to empty and most importantly, you don t get splashed, lol.  We also keep the toilet area extremely clean.  We didn t need the inside shower or we would have bought the Niagara.  The Bayside cabinet area is not big enough to install a cassette toilet, but of course a porta potty would fit fine.  If the price is right and it s what you want - go for it.  Just thoroughly inspect the ABS roof s integrity with a fine tooth comb as it sounds like you would not be the original owner and the roof warranty would be voided!
All of my posts today have ABS roof warnings.  Something must be up.  I m going to go out and check mine again, lol.

luvtacampThe cassette potty and the shower are not an option on the Bayside. One of the things I required of a new trailer was having the shower.  I would not get a trailer with out one.  We camp in campgrounds with out showers or with just cold showers each year, so the shower was a must when we bought the Nevada.

BaysideBruce

luvtacampWe have to " older"  children and the space inside of the trailer has become more important to us, especially as the children grow.  We never had a shower/toilet combo so we do not miss it.  All the cgs we stay at have bathroom facilities and we generally check things out carefully before we try a new campground.  On a rainy day I would never trade the additional space for a toilet... even knowing that I may have to make a run through the rain to use one.  Personal preferences...

Not that I would ever doubt you my PUT friend, but (haha) when I saw your post it made me confused, lol.
We were stuck between the Utah " CP"  and the Bayside until we discovered that the Bayside does not have a cabinet area large enough to accomodate a cassette toilet.  So that and not having to crawl over the table or couch were the main reasons we went with a Utah CP.
I just called my dealer and he confirmed it.  The only Coleman 12  PU s with cassette toilets are the Monterey, Niagara (with shower), Westlake (with shower), and the Utah " CP" .

luvtacamp[&:] sorry.   I met someone camping that has an older bayside with a cassette potty.  I checked with them and they installed it themselves.  The had a different trailer with a CP that was totaled in a flood.  They were able to salvage the CP and installed it in the Bayside.  I assumed (should never do that) that the CP was an option the year they got their Bayside.  Sorry again.

 luvtacampTracy -
No need to be sorry.  That s awesome that they were able to get a cassette toilet to fit inside their Bayside.
I just didn t want to confuse luvtacamp.

luvtacamp

luvtacampYou know what, I m stunned that they don t make the shower/toliet at least an option for the Bayside.  I can understand personal preferences for not wanting the combo, but there are many who would love it.  I guess that s why there s the Niagara.  But still, an expensive big pu like the Bayside and no option for it, I just don t quite get  it.  Must be the way they decided to market the campers.  [&:]

We do have a porta pottie with our pu now.  If we end up getting the Bayside, I m sure we could find a place to store it.  We re also considering the Westlake because of the shower/toliet and might get a good deal on it, sure wish we could find a used Niagara, I think that might be the answer.

 Decisions, decisions, [:o].

 Thanks for all your posts.[:)]

luvtacampWe just purchased our  03 Bayside in November 2002.  The 2003 Bayside has a space specifically designed to store a Coleman Porta Potti (although I suppose another brand would fit in the space...).  For the record, the 2001 Mesa we traded in on the 03 Bayside also had a storage locker specifically designed to hold the porti potti.
