Does anybody have any recent experience (well,... I doubt anybody has any recent experience, so let s say within the past year or so) with camping at Pocomoke State Park (either Shad or Milburn Landing)?  I haven t been there in years, and never with my popup, so I m not sure if that is a good choice or not.  I m looking for something between OC-MD and Assateague for a few days in July.

 Thoughts or comments welcomed!

 MHill488MHill488,

Welcome to the club. Hope this will help you. Both sites you will need to work around to find what you need.[:D]
http://www.gocampingamerica.com/stateassoc/maryland/index.html or for State Parks try http://www.dnr.state.md.us/publiclands/[:)]

 Good Luck

Milburn Landing has 32 campsites, some with electric. Amenities are limited at Milburn Landing and pets are allowed in the campground. A dump station is available. Click here for camping season beginning and ending dates, and camping and shelter service charges.

You may be wanting Milburn Landing that has 32 sites.

MHill488Haven t been there but recommend you go to the old forums (click at top right on main page). Once there, do a search on Pocomoke. I found 5 entries. Maybe one or more will help you.

This is a really nice campground.  Because of the tall loblolly pines the sites are open but they are nice size.  The staff at the park are very nice and try very hard to keep the park nice and give everyone a good experience there.  They have a nice pool and a place to put in your boat, canoe, etc.  Good fishing (I'm told).  Small camp store, but also close to Pocomoke where anything you need is available.  Spring and Fall are great there, in the hot summer look out for the mosquitoes!

Just a few miles south of T'S Corner, where you turn to get onto Chicoteague, is Saxis Road.  Saxis's claim to any fame is it's crabs  wheree you can get some of the best crabs around (from what I hear, we do not like crabs).  On the way to Saxis, is a campground called Tall Pines Harbor, on the Pokomoke Sound.  This is one of Raymond's favorites (why I am not really sure, maybe it is the owners who put a lot into the folks having a good time or maybe it is the Banana Splits that the lady in the general store/pool hall/crabbery (???) makes on those hot summer days).

it is more expensive than the state campgrounds, but it has a new (2 years old) pool the new owners put in.

Also Killens Pond is nice, if you like Delaware.  We set us a Rally there last summer.
