Well it was an interesting night in Texas last night.  The house got pummeled with golf ball sized hail.  All the roses are goners along with most of the stuff we had just planted last weekend.  Our storage shed in the back yard looks like it was beaten by a ball peen hammer.  All the spotlights around the house were broken as were the sidewalk lights.  Most of the big bushes look like they were trimmed with with a weedwacker.  A bunch of screens on the windows had holes in them but no broken glass.  Our next door neighbors wasn t so lucky.  He lost a big bedroom window.  Doncha love mother nature?

Trlrboywas your storm one of the three near dallas or the one northwest of dallas...those where some big long lived supercells.....i am sooooo sorry about your flora...especially the roses..s.igh

Trlrboy

TrlrboyWe got 2 of the 3 storms that rolled through.  #2 was the impressive one.

TrlrboyBob, sorry you got hit...check on your homeowners policy as trees, shrubs, etc. are sometimes covered along with your other damage.  I used to be a claims adjuster and this coverage is something many folks aren t aware of....by the way, a trip to DeGray Lake is in our future after reading your post.  I have sent for a brochure and visited the website.  Maybe this summer.

Trlrboy

TrlrboyYou ll love DeGray.  When you arrive you have to drive across the to of the dam and the view is somewhat incredible... big lake, islands, mountains, blue sky.  Let is know when you re going and we ll send you a list of our favorite sites.

TrlrboySorry to hear about the storm damage.  I was wondering how you faired.  All we got was some rain this time around.  Good for the garden.

TrlrboyI thought about you during the storm. Glad no one was hurt in your family. Been thru a big hail storm in my part of TX myself...very spooky. Did your trailer survive?
Best of luck in fixing every thing. Don t you dread that unsurance red tape[: (]
Let us know how you do.

TrlrboyWe were actually lucky in that we had spent the evening at a Mavericks/Magic game and came home to find big hail laying all over.  We didn t even see any rain until we were about 4 miles from home.  The camper is fine, that was in the garage.  Thanks everyone.

TrlrboySorry to hear about your damage...but I de be carefull about checking with your insurance company about if you re coverred.  Not sure about all insurance companies...but during the ice storm we called to check to see if they coverred motel stays if you re forced into one after a prolonged power outage (some carriers will cover this, ours didn t), and about a week later..called and asked about tree damage and stuff that were storm related (the cost of us doing the repairs our selves was less then the deductable).  When we refinanced the house..come to find out any time we called with just a simple question to find something out..and didn t file a claim..they still marked it down as one, and we had insurance marks as " bad risks"  or something like that which made it hard to get the insurance to carry over to a new company.  Just an FYI.

TrlrboyWhen people in Texas talk about the weather you never want to hear them say " Hey look at that!"   It s either some giant hailballs, tornados or freak lightning.  Other than that the weather is usually pretty nice.
