RE: campgrounds in southwest CO

Does anyone have information about good campgrounds around Lake City, Gunnison, Durango, Cortez, or Mesa Verde Colorado?

Define " good"  - public, private, hook-ups, seclusion (including will you drive gravel roads), type of activities (do you want to hike or fish or sit around the CG?). We ve stayed at a few in the areas you mentioned, & only stay in public CG s.  (We tried to find the showers at a private one in Lake City last year, but their signage left a lot to be desired, esp. since they mentioned public showers on web info.)

Thanks for the reply.  No we do not like to sit around unless its after a really great hike, bike, or to cook that fish we just caught.  We were wanting a CG that was quiet, few people, showers, and water.  From what I m hearing though, its hard to find water in CO.  We could take gravel roads, but I only have a Nissan Pathfinder so I don t know how steep we could take.  What suggestions do you have?
