Come on people, post some reviews or reply to requests in the campground review sections.  Several of the forums have not had any activity in a couple of weeks. thanks.

pcasey250Some campground forums are fairly active, but for some reason, something like 75% of the requests/reviews in the Northeast end up here on the General board or on the Campfire board.

I used to try to search the old forums and link to reviews, but not everyplace was in the old forums, and they re gone now anyway.

pcasey250I am making a concerted effort to review every campground we go to this year.  I have already started and will try to keep it up while the campgrounds are fresh in my mind.  I do have a comment/question though.
Seems that the campground review section should be just campground reviews as the name indicates.  If someone has a question about a particular campground, the question could be posted on the general forum where the greatest number of people will see it.  If someone has the information requested, they could post a reply in the campground review section.  Of course, they would also have to reply to the original post telling them where to find the review.  Those with additional information could easily add to the original post.  This may also help to remind people that the review area exists.  It may also prevent having to filter through questions about a campground when there is no answer.  Does this method sound too cumbersome to everyone?

Most of the posts in the North Atlantic forum (perhaps 95% or more) start out as requests for information.  The reviews only arrive in response to the requests.  What makes sense to me is for people (everyone) to look in the sections covering where they camp in case they can help out.

pcasey250One of the other pop up sites has their campground reviews sorted by STATE.  I just added 3 on there.  I ll add them here as well.

I believe that is because we are not getting any responses off the C/G reviews. And there is more readers for the three main Threads.

pcasey250I moved one on my requests for info to the General board and got three hits right away.  I thought about posting there originally but I thought the other forums were set up for that reason.  I guess people just don t look at those forums as much. Thanks.

I scroll down and give a look. Just the other day I saw your request  and felt bad you had gotten no reply. Never camping there I couldn  have helped you. (but then, not many want to camp where we do)

I scroll down as far as the Rally forum, skipping the clubs area because we are not in any clubs

pcasey250I put off posting all mine again hoping that PUT would find a way to link the old ones.  They were such a valuable resource.  Anyway, since I had copied them into Word before they closed the old board down, I just recreated all of ours in the Mid Atlantic section.

pcasey250Thanks Bayside. That is the spirit we need. I am going to Otter Lake next week. I know it was reviewed on the old board but I will write one when I come back.

pcasey250Just checked out the Atlantic campground reviews and only a few showed.

Then I realized that it was only showing the reviews from the last 30 days.

Changing it to Topics for last 180 days brings up a lot more reviews.[:)]

pcasey250Thanks for pointing that out, Gene.  There was a whole page of reviews I wasn t seeing.  Glad none of them were reviews for ones I Just did.
