I tried posting in the regional section but didn t get any replies.  DOes anyone have any experience with the park and the related campground or other campgrounds in the area.  We are thinking of doing the amusement park and also if feasible the Football Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  It is  a long drive from NY.
 THanks

pcasey250As the wife is from Toledo, Cedar Point has been a common vacation destination.

Don t bother going if yo don t like roller coasters, as it is the capitol of them.  Not being a huge fan, I can take it or leave it - all in all it is a fun place.

We have never stayed at teh campground, but postings from others I have seen through the years are always positive.

 Again, it s coaster heaven!

pcasey250Been to the park dozens of times.  And yes it is the roller coaster capital of the world. As a matter of fact, they have a new one that is opening in may that is 420 feet high and goes 120mph.

Now it s been awhile since I have camped there, and it has changed and been added to.  The campground was very clean and well maintained as were the restrooms and bath houses.  Avery nice new part was built with lots on the lake I believe, but I couldn t tell you of the sizes of the lots.

If youm want ot find out prices and also maps of the campground go to:

 www.cedarpoint.com

It tells you most of what you will need to know.  I do know that it is a very very popular place and reservations may be hard to get.  I m not familiar with other camps in the area.  We gave up trying to camp there and usually just stay in a motel now.

pcasey250I suggest that you go to East Harbor state park. It is half the price of Cedar Point and has better sites. It is about 20 to 30 minutes away from the park.

Here  is a link to East Harbor
