Review posted in June 2002.  We went again in September.

We just spent two nights at this campground and plan to go back. In my opinion it has a setting like a state park with more ammenities. For the most part the campground is a RV village, very few popups or tents, and a lot of the campers are what they call " permanents. But we easily got a very nice site about 1 1/2 weeks in advance. It was a well-shaded pull-through site, much bigger than we have ever gotten at KOA or Jellystone in Hagerstown. I think all of the RV sites have water, electric and sewer. There were two bathhouses and they were pretty deserted (probably because most of the campers had travel trailers and motor homes.) They were clean but did not have soap. They had a coin laundry but you are not allowed to wash sleeping bags or blankets. Cost us $5.00 to do a load of laundry because the dryer took forever (1.25 a load) and we had to drive home to do the sleeping bag. They have a nice pool and a " catch and return"  pond for fishing. Cows can be seen on the other side of the pond and there are goats on the property to feed. They had a minimal game room (which I prefer). They had mini-golf and an adequate camp store/office. They also serve food Friday night, Sat afternoon, and Sunday breakfast. We didn t part-take, but for some being able to not deal with certain meals is a great option to have. They did not have many activities planned this weekend, being early in the season, but they did have a very long evening hayride which ended with a free hotdog. They also had tye dying Sat morning (bring your own shirt or buy at the store). Pets are allowed and there was a " paw walk"  but I found it hard to get to from our site and I had to upset the dog on the corner campsite when I had to go there at 6 a.m. and when DH took her at night. The path in was gravel which was hard to do pushing a stroller at the same time, though

 2003 Update

We went back the last weekend in April and enjoyed it again.  All of the sites (except tent sites) have E/W/S.  They did not have any activities or meals this early in the season but someone did do Karoke on Saturday night.  I was there with a group and we were allowed the use of the pavillion free of charge.   They have horseshoes, shuffle board, and three nice playground areas.  There is also a tiny " toddler"  playground that you might miss if you don t know it s there.  They only allow one vehicle per site so if two of you drive down be prepared to park in the lot by the office or in a gravel area in the middle of the campsite.  While we were there a cub scout and girl scout group stayed in tents in the grassy areas but still did not find the bathrooms busy at all (but still no soap.)

This is one of the most peaceful, quietest campgrounds I have ever stayed at.  Because there are so many seasonals you don t have a lot of people coming and going (ie. big rigs pulling in at midnight waking you up!)  There is a train track nearby and the whistle may stir you from your sleep but it wasn t constant.  The pond had a sign saying no fishing in April (and either March or May - can t remember) but people were still doing it.

LoveOurBaysideYes, it was with mdpaul.  He has a thread going on Pop Up Explorer called Campers and Co. where some of us have been keeping in touch.  They are going to Assetegue (sp) in June but it s too much of a drive for us for a weekend and the kids still have school.

Have fun at Ramblin  Pines.  What site do you have?

LoveOurBaysideHave not made reservations as of yet. Another club member ans I are trying to grt together some time soon. This C/G  we are looking at for our first time.

What site would suggust for us with dogs ? Yes, I was talking to mdpaul about that trip way back in December of last year. I was sad when he did not stay with us. I have seen him on POP UP EXPLORER. Problem is one post per day.

whitestar505Whoops, sorry I didn t see your reply until now.

The dog walk is toward the back of the campsite.  Some of the sites in the D area back up to it and you can get down to the pet area from the back of your site.  Some, though, have sort of a steep hill.  If you get more towards the middle of the campground you have to walk all the way around to get to the pet area since there is no cut through in the middle.  So, if you enjoy taking a good walk with your dog and they don t get you up too early, any site would be fine.  If you d like to make it quick strive for the outer fringes which includes some Cs and Bs.  It s hard to give you specific sites because they do have a lot of seasonals at this campsite and they aren t marked on the map.   FWIW, if you are looking at a map, all the E s and Gs are seasonal.
